ECONOMY
 The Facility used materials that are cost effective, readily available, and are easy to
install. Since Quarantine facility is needed throughout the country due to the increase
spread of contagious disease, the materials chosen are something that others can copy
and build to help speed up the building of quarantine facility.
 The following are the materials used and where it is being used.
i. Wood pallets serves as the base of the structure.
ii. Polyethylene sheet (opaque and transparent) were used for walls in all spaces
except for T & B with fiber cement board for walls.
iii. The structure was constructed using a 2x4 inches wood.
iv. PVC door as the type of door used.
v. Mosquito net serves as the ceiling for all spaces, where natural lighting and
ventilation can penetrate, except for T & B with PVC fabric for ceiling.
vi. Galvanized iron mesh (can serve as mosquito net) as part of the T & B walls that
provides natural lighting and ventilation.
vii. Polyethylene curtain used as partitions.
viii. Straw rope as a material for fence.
2. SAFETY AND SECURITY
 The facility is well protected and secured by a security personnel and a fence using
straw rope was provided to drive away unwanted animals and people who might
mistakenly enter the premises. In addition, straw rope as fence in pathways also serve
as a direction guide for people entering the facility.
3. NATURAL LIGHTING AND VENTILATION
4. SPACE AND LOCATION
 The site used is a covered basketball court, which saves cost in terms of providing shade
from the sun and the hassle in flatting out the ground, since a finish floor line (concrete)
was present. In addition, the chosen site is away from people’s reach and is not a
crowded and populated area.
5. ACCESSIBILITY LAW
 The facility was provided with a ramp to serve PWDs (Person with disability) with easy
passage and movement.
