Re: Provincial Focused Dialogue meeting aiming at compiling the South Western Region Advocacy
Paper in a bid to address HIV and the economic empowerment needs of women

South Western Region Gender Network (SWRGN) is a regional gender focused network that was
formed in December 2010 and officially registered in February 2011. The organization was
established by 10 Non Government Organizations (NGOs) operating in the south western region of
Zimbabwe specifically in Bulawayo, Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North, Midlands and
Masvingo Provinces with interest and passion of advancing gender equality, women and girls
empowerment issues.

SWRGN invited Bulawayo, Midlands and Masvingo provinces ASOs to a dialogue meeting on the 10 th
and 19th of December respectively. The purpose of the meetings was to draw out HIV advocacy
issues at the local level that have a gender and economic empowerment bearing and to suggest
possible strategic response interventions that will reduce vulnerability of women and girls to HIV
infection in the South Western Region of Zimbabwe.

Against the given background, you are cordially invited to a focused one day provincial dialogue
meeting aiming at consolidating the South Western Region Advocacy paper. This is in recognition
that you are a prominent player in HIV and AIDS and gender issues. Your contribution shall greatly
influence the outcome of such a meeting.

The meeting is on the 29th of January 2013.
