– Pages 654 and 657 under Test 17 — Checking VECU Power and Ground
Circuits, has been modified to eliminate having to jump pins C and D of the
Diagnostic Serial Port connector, because of the difference in pin configurations
between the 6-pin and 9-pin diagnostic connectors. This test can now be performed
on any chassis regardless of which diagnostic connector (6- or 9-pin) the chassis
utilizes.
Additionally on page 657, under Test 16 — Checking the Cranking Engine Speed
Signal, Step 3 has been corrected to “Install fuse 38.”
– Page 664 additional sensor information (specifications and part numbers) has been
supplied.
– Page 675 Figure 815, the illustrations have been changed to depict the correct

EECU J3 Connector
The view of the EECU J3 connector used throughout both the service manual and the
diagnostic update manual is incorrect. The connector view depicted in all the illustrations
showing the J3 connector is actually the module connector, not the harness connector.
Consequently, the pin locations shown in all the illustrations are mirror images of the
harness connector. The illustration below shows the actual EECU J3 connector with the
correct pin orientation.
