to have a game . And our game is called find things and objects that are

understanding and words and you have
provided various examples, it is now your
time to apply the knowledge that you
learned.

For your activity group yourself into 5

and you have to demonstrate a role
playing using the different kinds of
compounds words. I will give you 5
minutes to prepare for your presentation.

Good morning class ! I would all of you to

choose you own partner and I will give
you a piece of literary work and you are
going to identify the figures of speech that
are used in the poem. You will write it in a
¼ sheet of paper and you only have 5
minutes to do it.

The Lord is my strength and my

He never fails to show me his love and
care
He celebrates with me when I am in
gladness
I trust Him fully because He is fair.

grade 6 we have learned about the figures
of speech. Now I can say that His face is
as innocent as a baby because it is a simile
for it is uses the word as. And there are
things that are likened with each other.
His face and baby.
Ma’am it is a metaphor because it is a
comparison of two unrelated objects
without using like and as.
Lord and strength, happiness.
It is a personification ma’am . Because it
personifies a thing.
Plants ma’am. Because plants cannot
literally whisper to a person.
Now class based on your activity who can
explain and elaborate what is a simile?

Ma’am simile is a figure of speech that
compares an object to another object.
And it uses like and as.
For example, She is like an angel.
This is a simile because she is being
compared to an angel plus there is the
word like.

Simile is a comparison of two things with
the use of as and like.

figures of speech which is the metaphor.

Metaphor is a comparison of two
unrelated objects without using like and
as. It is somewhat similar to simile but
the only difference is that metaphor
doesn’t use the word as and like. And it is
not literal in meaning. Like for example ,

is the Personification .

Ma’am personification personifies a
thing. Or it gives life to an object. Like the

example, the sun is smiling, we know that

personification a thing can have life. But
it is not literal in meaning rather it has
deeper meaning. When we say the sun is
smiling it means that the sun is shining
brightly.

So class, since you have understand the

lesson it is now the time to apply what
you have learned. For your activity group
yourselves into 3 and you are going to
create poem or story( depends on your
choice) using the three kinds of figures of
speech. Minimum of 4 stanzas only for
the poem and for the story minimum of
100 words. You only have 15 minutes to
do it. Assign your own leader, secretary
and the reporter.
After you have done it you are going to
send one representative to report or to
read what you have done. You may start
now.

III. EXPLAIN
Romeo and Juliet is an enduring tragic
love story written by William Shakespeare
about two young-star crossed lovers
whose deaths ultimately unite their
feuding families. Romeo and Juliet fall in
love in a world of feuding and hostility
but their love for each other struggles
against all the obstacles and though they
meet a tragic end, their deaths bring love
and reconciliation to Verona.

So class why do you think William

Shakespeare wrote a story like this?

wants to remind and address every
feuding families, that hating each other
doesn’t bring good outcome at all.

may it be a radio play, interview style,
pantomime, skit , and etc. I will give you
15 minutes to prepare and have your
practice. You only have 5 minutes to
present.
