The ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ

We will celebrate this feast in Our church this Thursday 10 th June 2021

Reading from the book of Acts chapter 1 from 1-11

We need the leaders to know the story of ascension

To feel happy and blessed in this feast

To practice praying together fervently asking God to show them their mission in life

As a disciple, what is the impact on you of: (mention feelings, and if possible, Why exactly this
feeling?)

what were the disciples doing during the 10 days awaited for the Holy Spirit to come?
Praying fervently\ praising God with much joy \ talked about their mixed-up feelings and
encouraged each other(very important)\ recalled Jesus’ teachings and tried to understand what
was going around very important\ sat in silence.

What do you see as the key point of this passage?

God’s kingdom includes the whole world\ Jesus will return but don’t stand around waiting for
Him “ I have a mission”\ Jesus’ mission and ministry continues through His followers “through
us”\ the power of the Holy Spirit is crucial to every Christian’s life How? (I need to lit up this
power through my daily relationship with God and through the Holy Sacraments)

What holds you back from spreading the word about Jesus? How to solve this problem?

Lack of knowledge \ lack of concern (busy with other less important” staff \ lack of courage “
they won’t respond” ‫ \؟‬lack of non-Christian friends.\ ..others (Discuss with them how to
overcome each obstacle)

To which Jerusalem are you called to bear witness? How do you need the Spirit to help you?

How would you live differently if Jesus was not currently reigning in heaven but was only
another nobel martyr?
