System Requirement’s
It is recommended that Surface Manager be installed on a Server Platform consisting of
the following hardware specifications.
 Intel Core i7 or Xeon CPU of 2Ghz or higher with 4 cores or more.
 16GB RAM
 Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012 R2
 Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or Higher
 2GB for Surface Manager Server

It is recommended to have at least 500GB of free hard drive space allocated for log files
sent from Drill Rigs. There is no requirement for this to be on a Regular Hard-Drive, a Solid
State Drive, or a RAID Array, but higher burst IO Performance of the disk subsystem will
substantially increase the performance of Surface Manager’s log processing speed.
Disk Redundancy and Good Backup Procedures should be observed to ensure there is low risk
of unrecoverable data loss.

Preparation
Before leaving to the mine site make sure that the mine has installed and setup the
SQL Server and you have all current and up to date installation files on a USB stick. Surface
Manager requires a license key, you can have Andrew Voll generate a license key for you.
Files are as follows.
 RRA_Client_Setup.exe
 RRA_Server_Setup.exe
 SurfaceManager_2.16.2.exe (Or more current version)
 SurfaceManagerServer_2.16.2.exe (Or more current version)

Installing Surface Manager & RRA requires administrator privileges for the computer.
For RRA ports will need to opened from the IT department, ports are 5289, 7006, 20 and 21.

Make sure all dates in RCS are up to date. Wrong dates could cause problems with
Surface Manager.

are correct on the machines RCS. You will need the IP address of the CCI for RCS4
for RCS5 you need to clear the Logs from the display. Note: For RCS Lite you cannot
FTP into the CCI because it is LINIX based. You can clear the logs on the RCS 5
display. On RCS 5 got to Data – Production Logs – Administration you can select
