4. DISCUSSION

This experiment is about how Zener Diode works as a voltage regulator. In the first experimental setup,
we used a variable power supply and constant load parallel to Zener diode. When we started increasing
the voltage, the voltage across the load also started increasing proportionally but after a certain
voltage, the output voltage started increasing very slowly.

In the second setup, we used variable load and constant power supply. This time after changing the load
resistance we can’t see any significant change of output voltage compare to the first experimental
setup. And at a certain load resistance we got a more constant voltage compare to the first
experimental setup.
