Student:
Who is your best friend? Why is this person important to you?
I think Angelica is the most important person in my whole life because of some
reasons I would like to talk to you about. First of all, every time we ’re together,
we usually have fun and have a good time in whatever we want to do. If we
want to go out to eat, we do it; if we want to go to the movies, then we go; we
usually reach a mutual agreement. Second, because I know that I can always
count on her whenever I need it and she can also count on me for anything. For
example, when I need advice to know what dress to wear for a party, she
always supports me by choosing the most beautiful dress, and when she
breaks up with any boyfriend, I listen to her and try to help her as necessary.
To conclude, I can say that the most important person in my life is my friend
Angelica because we spend many good times together and we can count on
each other for whatever.
What do you and your best friend have in common, and what makes you
different? Give examples. Expand using verbs in simple present: am, is,
are and action verbs.
My friend Angelica and I have many things in common related to our habits, but
some other things are really different. I mean, we have the same music likes.
We like Linkin park, Ariana Grande and Bon Jovi. Also, we take English
classes and study the same language, and we both attend ICPNA. When we
go out, we like to go to Plaza Norte or to Mega Plaza to eat. However, once
there, I am a McDonald’s lover, so I always want to eat in McDonalds, while
Angelica wants to eat in KFC. Also, when we want to watch a movie, she is a
fan of romantic movies, but I prefer horror ones. Finally, I always arrive early to
my classes, but she is often late to hers. All in all, there are some things that
Angelica and I have in common, but some others make us different.
What did you and your friend experience in the past? Use simple past
verb to be and action verbs.
My best friend Angelica and I did many things together when we were younger.
We met each other when I was 14 and she was 15. We went to our
neighborhood park every day because there were plenty of games and
exercise machines. At first, we didn’t get along very well because she was a
bit selfish and she wasn’t very supportive, however, things changed and she
changed that attitude and bad behavior. I remember 3 years ago, we were
dating some guys that we liked. But, we didn't know that these guys had their
girlfriends and they just wanted to have fun with us. We prepared a plan and
got the Facebook accounts of her girlfriends and, after that, we sent them all
the proofs of the good boyfriends they had. It was definitely an anecdote that
we will never forget because it brought us together much more than you could
imagine.
