III. PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES: Bachelor of Science in Criminology:


1. Develop in the students’ skills, accountability, attitudes and values essential to the practice of Criminology in the fields of criminalistics, law enforcement
administration, criminal sociology, criminal law and jurisprudence, correctional administration, ethics and community relations and defensive tactics;
2. Produce competitive graduates to become implementers of law with commitment, pride, honour, integrity and nationalism in the field of Philippine National Police,
Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and other related fields;
3. Equip the students with knowledge regarding crime prevention, law enforcement, scientific crime detection and correctional administration, human relation and
community participation and to provide selfless service to everyone;
4. Prepare the students in the conduct of research on the nature, causes, treatment or punishment of criminal behaviour and how criminal justice agencies respond to
crimes, criminals and victims.

VIII. Course Description: This course will help the students to learn, recognized and apply the different standard operating procedures in conducting criminal investigation. The students
will give importance to the different kinds of evidence and to what the investigator can do in order to solve the crime.

At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Appreciate the importance of criminal investigation in the field of police service.

2. Recognized the role of investigator as the prime person behind criminal investigations.
3. Identify the different kinds of search methods, tools, phases and evidences of criminal Investigations

4. Adapt and apply by actual performing the crime scene investigations.

5. Practice the standard operating procedure in conducting criminal investigations

The graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology of NLPSC shall have the ability to:
a. apply knowledge essential to the conduct of criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims and offenders to include deviant   
behaviour;
b. apply knowledge, skills essential to the practice of crime detection and investigation and field of criminalistics   
c. apply knowledge and understanding of the elements of crimes as provided in existing laws, including the principles of criminal evidence   
and procedures;
d. apply knowledge and skills in law enforcement administration;   
e. apply knowledge and skills in handling offenders’ welfare and development for their re-integration to the community;   
f. engage in lifelong learning and recognize the need to keep abreast with the development in the practice of criminology;   
g. communicate effectively the practice of the profession in public safety services and the entire criminal justice system;   
