Newton Community Education is pleased to offer you a position as instructor for our Program. This letter serves as your
contract and acts as an agreement between you ("the instructor") and Newton Community Education ("NCE") for the Fall 2012
term. NCE agrees to pay the instructor the amount listed below each course upon completion of the responsibilities listed in this
contract. The instructor agrees to teach the following course(s):

The instructor is responsible for planning, preparation, teaching, supervision, and cleanup for the course(s) listed above. Duties
shall include:

Planning: The instructor shall submit a course description and general lesson plans for each course as requested to the NCE
Program Coordinator.
Preparation: The instructor is responsible for preparation of any materials necessary for the course. Any expenses
for materials must be approved by the Program Coordinator in advance, and original receipts should be submitted
for reimbursement before the last class. The instructor is also responsible for preparing the classroom space before
class (clearing/moving tables, etc.)
Teaching: Class sessions shall be taught by the instructor. In the event the instructor has an unavoidable absence,
the class may be taught by an approved substitute.
Supervision: The instructor shall arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of each class and agrees to stay until the last student
leaves. Kids & Teens instructors are responsible for classroom management and supervision of students, and must make sure kids
are picked up by their parents or guardians, or delivered to their after-school programs. Kids who leave on their own must have
signed permission to do so from their parents.
Cleanup: The instructor agrees to return the classroom or other space used to its original condition at the end of each class.
Attendance: The instructor will keep accurate attendance records, and distribute communications as provided to students and/or
their parents/guardians. Any student attending a class must be on the attendance sheet or have verbal or written approval from
NCE to attend.
Cancellations/Make-ups: In the event of class cancellations due to inclement weather, classes will be extended by one week; the
instructor must be available to make up the class. The instructor agrees to notify the Program Coordinator and students well in
advance of any occasion when the instructor must miss a class. We will reschedule whenever possible.

This agreement is contingent upon sufficient registration; NCE may cancel courses due to low enrollment. Please be advised that
this offer is contingent upon the satisfactory verification of your CORI.

Please sign and return one copy of your contract to Newton Community Ed by August 9, 2012.

I understand and agree to the above stated terms and requirements. I have read and understand the attached list of Policies and
Procedures, and I agree to abide by them. If I fail to adhere to any of the listed responsibilities, I understand that it could lead to
the termination of my employment with Newton Community Education.
