The winning teams of each of our more than 1,000 OnCampus events around the world
will have the opportunity to choose from one of our 25 Regions to showcase their idea
live on a global stage. From Boston to Shanghai, Dubai, Toronto, San Francisco, Tunisia,
London, Egypt, Lagos, Mexico, Nairobi, Quito, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore,
etc. Our Regional Program selects the teams that will have the chance to live the
experience of our Global Accelerator and be one step closer to the million dollars.
Winning teams from each of our 25 regional finals from
across the world will have the chance to join the Hult
Prize Accelerator Program at the Ashridge Castle, in
the U.K. A global ecosystem of business leaders,
mentors, investors, and corporate partners help forge a
path for our students to become entrepreneurs and
support their development for life. Our network opens
doors to capital, mentorship, marketing, business
development, customer acquisition, and talent
recruitment.

Each year, the Hult Prize team issues a big bold
challenge aligned with a large market opportunity
inspiring students from over 100 countries to
solve it’s greatest problem. 100,000 begin the
journey, the top 50 get incubated in our castle in
the U.K. and the top 6 teams pitch for USD$1
Million in startup funding at the United Nations
Headquarters in New York.

Over the decade since we founded the Hult Prize, the global
prospects for youth employment have gotten worse. The
youth labor force participation rate and the youth employment-
to-population ratio have both fallen in the past decade.

We have seen a surge in economic migration amongst our


youth, and many are taking life-threatening risks as they
search for greater opportunity.

PROCESS
1.List all teams on a flipchart.
2.Each judge gets 2 votes. Votes must be
used on different teams.
3.Consensus to be reached on top 3
teams.
4.Discuss in groups of 2 judges around
the top 3 selected teams, then as a group.
5.Vote again, ranking the top 3. Each
judge gets 1 vote.
6.Select the winner based on consensus.

Keep in mind
• Select the very best startup that you believe is bankable,
disruptive, and has a pathway to market.
• Winning team will get a chance to compete at the regional
• Teams will need to be able to work together to implement
their solution; this is not just a competition for good ideas.
• Do not penalize a team because they are just getting
started or you think they are too far along. We are seeking
the most disruptive ideas, not a specific phase of
company.
• There may be qualitative elements to presentations that
are difficult to judge; try to articulate what these are – it will
help identify what makes a team special.
• You are all a part of this jury because you have valuable
experience to help select a winner; diverse experience is
what makes this interesting!
