Subject: Virtual Inter House Competitions

Dear Parents

Greetings from VIBGYOR Group of Schools!

To keep our students engaged, we haveintroduced innovative methods and strategies for the
enhancement of the creative pursuits of our students. In this regard, we havecreated a plan to
conduct Virtual Inter House Competitions.

In Term 1 the Inter House Competitions are based on individual performances. The competitions are
as follows:

Grade 1 :Poem Recitation

 Students have to come prepared to recite a poem.

 The poem should not be longer than 1 minute.
 Students will be marked on the following three parameters:
 Pronunciation
 Intonation and Voice Modulation
 Content

Grade 2 : Fantasy Monologue (Fairy Tale/ Cartoon Character)

 Students need to dress as a character from a fairy tale or cartoon and deliver a monologue.
For Example, Snow White, Spiderman, Aladdin, Powerpuff Girls, etc.
 The monologue could be from the story or it could also be imaginary (what the characters
might say if given a chance).
 The monologue should not exceed1 minute.
 Students will be marked on the following three parameters:
 Content
 Dialogue Delivery and Expressions
 Costume and Overall Presentation
Grade 3: Elocution Competition

 Students need to speak on the topic, ‘What freedom means to me?’

 Each student shall be given 1 minute to speak.
 Students will be marked on the following three parameters,
 Voice Modulation and Intonation
 Clarity of Speech
 Overall Presentation

Grade 4 :Pick and Speak

 This competition shall be impromptu.

 Teachers shallspin a virtual wheel with topics written on them for each student.
 Students have to speak on the topic that appears on the wheel for him/her.
 Each student shall be given 2 minutes to speak.
 The topics may be pertaining to subjects such as friends, family, festivals, home, sport, etc.
 Please note that the actual topics shall be disclosed only on the day of the competition.
 Students will be marked on the following three parameters,
 Voice Modulation and Intonation
 Content
 Overall Presentation

Important Information/Instructions:

 The judges’ decision will be final.

 Competitionswill be scheduled on a working Saturday or on week day after Virtual Learning
Sessions.

 All students must register on or before 7th August’21. Late entries will not be accepted.
 All non-participants of the respective grades/sections may watch the performances while
remaining on mute.
 Video of only the student who is performing will be kept on.
 Detailed schedule is attached as Annexure 1.
