A COMPLETE GUIDE LINE FOR ACADEMIC SESSION
In reference with commencement of new academic session 2021-2022 with
effect from; o2-08-2021, Academics wing has devised detailed guidelines for the Heads of
Institution to plan activities of new session in effective manner. First week of August, 2021
(02-08-2021 to 07-08-2021) shall be planned as orientationweek for classes at primary and
secondary level where students should be familiarize with demands of new classes and
teachers.
Strict Compliance COVID-SoPs:
All educational institutions shall function under strict observance of already notified
COviD-19 SOPs which include observance of health and hygiene, temperature checking at
the entrance, sanitization on regular intervals, and density management. This means that
students will continue to attend their classes in staggered manner with each group of
students attending institutions on alternate days. To maintain social distancing at all times
multiple entry/exit points shall be used with vigilant staff to be engaged therein.

Institutions' Timings forStudents:


.For Single Shift Institutions: 08:00 am to o1:30 pm (Mon-Thu & Sat)
08:00 am to 12:30 pm (Friday)
F o r Double Shift Institutions:
Morning Shift: 08:00 am to o1:30 pm (Mon-Thu & Sat)
08:00 am to 12:30 pm (Friday)
Evening Shift: 01:45 pm to o6:00 pm (Mon-Thu & Sat)
02:30 pm to 06:00 pm (Friday)
. For Pre-I (Montessori / Prep): 08:00 am to 11:30am (Mon-Sat)

Working Daysand Term wise Break Up:


.All educational institutions shall continue to have six working days in a week with
Saturday being observed as working day for this academic session due to staggered
mode of teaching in context of COVID-19.
This academic session is divided in to o2 terms with the First Term from August
2021 to November 2021 and Final Term from December 2021to March 2022. The
schedule of examinations shall be as under:

Period Wise Time Allocation:
All educational institutions shall follow uniform timings and number of periods per day
according to the time allocation given below. During break/recess time students shall be
allowed to have lunch and play games in the open area/playground under supervision of on
duty teaching staff and striet observance of COVID-19 SoPs.

Note: Time table for Evening shift and Friday may be devised accordingly keeping the
number of periods per day 07 as standard (for this academic session only).

Instructional Guides(Grades -V):


With the help of dedicated team members form the academic staff, Academic Wing FDE has
prepared Instructional Guide for all subject taught at primary level. This Instructional Guide
(Classes -V) is based on Single National Curriculum which will be implemented in the
upcoming session 2021-22 w.e.f; o9-08-2021. This is a comprehensive document that gives
a roadmap for a structured and well planned weekly/daily implementation of meaningful
teaching learning activities in accordance with the contents of the given text books. These
Instructional Guides (soft copies) shall be uploaded at the FDE's official website and shall
also be shared through official WhatsApp groups. After completion of review process, these
shall be provided in the form ofprinted booklets to all educational institutions (for Classes
LV) as soon as possible during the first quarter of first term. The process of development of
Instructional Guide for higher classes shall take up as soon as the textbooks under Single
National Curriculum be prepared.

Revised Scheme of Studies for class Pre I to VIII has been prepared keeping in
view the recent changes in curriculum. Heads of Institution shall design
institutional time table as per advised work load for each subject to be taught
for the grade levels. (Documnent is attached at Annexure "A"),

In connection with compulsory Teaching of the Holy Quran Act 2017 teaching
of the Holy Quran is compulsory for Muslims students in all educational
intuitions working under the ambit of Federal Directorate of Education,
Islamabad. In this regard subject of Nazra Quran in Classes I-V is included as a
separate compulsory subject.

Moreover separate books for teaching of Nazra Quran are also being provided

SCHEME OF STUDIES FOR CLASS PRE-I TO VII

Introduction:
This scheme of studies is a purposefully designed document prepared in line with the

scheme of studies approved and implemented by Ministry of Education, Curriculum Wing in

2007 and later revised by Capital Administration and Development Division (Cabinet
Secretariat) vide its letter No F.20-17/2015 Edu-IC, dated 08-02-2018. The purpose of the
document is to elaborate the details of all subjects to be taught for the level of Pre-I to VIlI in
educational institutions working under the ambit of FDE. It guides the Heads of Institution
to design institution specific time table and provides with the necessary information of
advised work load for each subject to be taught for the grade levels this document is designed
for. This lays down the details of the core and elective subjects taught at these grade levels,
with subject wise weightage, allocation of periods per subject and for physical/co-curricular
activities.

Details of Coreand Elective Subiectsfor GradesPre Ito VIl:


1. Core subjects for Early Childhood Care & Education (Pre 1) are Urdu, English and
Mathematics.

2. Core subjects for Grades 1-1ll are Urdu, English, Mathematics, Islamiat (Religious
Education in lieu of lslamiat for students of religions other than Islam) and
General Knowledge (General Science and Social Studies).

3. Core subjects for Grades IV-V are Urdu, English, Mathematics, Islamiat (Religious
Education in lieu of Islamiat for students of religions other than Islam), General
Science and Social Studies.

4. Core subjects for Grades VI-VIl are:

a. Urdu, English, Mathematics, Islamiat (Moral Education in lieu of Islamiat for


students of religions other than Islam), Computer Education, General Science,

History and Geography

b. Elective are: Arabic/Persian/Regional Language /Drawing /Health & Physical
