PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

The speaker, ma’am Oquendo discussed about relations between personality

development and human relations which she emphasized that these in real world will go
hand-in-hand. She also emphasized that our development of our personality can affect
our social relations. Moreover, personality is a complex one and studying it includes the
context of society. Our behavior is the act we act in general, especially in relation to the
situation we are in. Moreover, we must always be aware of ourselves which we are
going to work with our profession someday.
The speaker gave her personal point of view while giving the topic. Her delivery
is smooth and well delivered. It is being discussed that personality is the sum of one’s
characteristics. Personality development has many considerations like our physical,
intellectual, character, emotional, social, spiritual aspects and etc. Our self could reflect
in the Icebergs Theory that we have id, ego, and superego which points the
psychodynamics of personality. There are many agents of our development and some
of these mold us towards our maturity. Family, school, church, peer group, mass media,
and etc. are the agents of our development. These agents are very influential and
almost mold our entire personality. In addition, the speaker highlighted about physical
aspects such as visual poise and figure control. Visual poise is all about how you stand,
walk, sit and etc. while figure control tackled about understanding your body. Proper
self-care also discussed, yet, a well-groomed gives more confidence and attention to
someone specially in our profession. To wrap up, understanding and developing our
personality will help us no matter what field we are.
In addition, the speaker also detailed about public relations. It is all about
engaging and building relations across numerous platforms and individuals. It is used
sometimes as techniques and strategies related in managing a group or society to
spread information. Developing our interpersonal skills will help us also to develop our
public relations. Understanding of personality enhancement greatly make us beautiful to
the people around us. Social enhancement includes social acceptance, social-
satisfaction, and self-confidence. Guiding with proper decorum of our personality with
the proper ethics in dealing with people will help and guarantee you to success.
Along the way, understanding personal development and public relations will give
you an advantage in life. Being in a profession that always dealing with society, really
needs the basic secret of living which is understanding yourself and how can yourself
manage to connect with others. To summarize, even the webinar is long yet, it is fun
and so much learning you can get with the speaker. Being a mechanical engineering
student, I will always remember the lecture and hoping that I can glow up sometimes.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

Sir Edgardo, the speaker is a promising one with his experienced in the industry.
His lectures are great and everything is noted because it is clear and concise. In my
perspective, there is no thing I can think the difference between leader and a manager
however, it is much important in a workplace full of individual and have tedious of
activities and works that are needed to organized.
Sir Edgardo, the speaker begun his introductory with the definition of leadership.
He went deeply into the meaning and give some subjective thought about it. The four
leadership styles: autocratic, democratic, bureaucratic, and transformational, has
individually provides clarifications of the differences in ways managing a group. In
addition, management has been identified that as a coordination and organization of
different activities of business process and was also tackled the functions on
management and how it works on the field. The functions of management we can
always see in organizing, planning, directing, controlling and etc. in the field of work and
business proper. Also, between the lecture, the speaker identifies the differences
between a leader and manager. Furthermore, the best thing I learned from the webinar
is when the speaker fully tackled the different tools and technologies align with the
project management process. For instance, in planning where serries of steps are being
executed. The old saying “Plan the Work, Work the Plan” is an ideal thought for a group
doing the project management.
At the end of the lecture, the speaker gave his time accommodating our queries
and yet, the webinar become more meaningful for the new knowledge. Furthermore,
being a future engineer means also being a future leader. We have to make a lot of
projects someday and we have to lead these projects guiding with our knowledge and a
leadership skill. The speaker also gives motivations to us on how we can influence and
guide others directing to finish what is being started and what is needed to be started.
Together with the managerial ability, dealing and controlling things doing with the task. I
learned that setting strategy and coordination within the organization will make the goal
be achievable.
To wrap up everything, even though this OJT has now become virtual at least I
gained a great learning. So much more, I thank to our OJT coordinator for this
opportunity.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The webinar provides good start with the distinguish speaker, sir Sore. He
delivered everything and bringing with him his experienced and connect it with his
discussion. I learned a lot even though I don’t have any background regarding with
project management.
The speaker started the meaning of the topic and differentiated it with other
related operations and provide reasons why do we need to learn it. I learned the
reasons why do companies use project management which is very crucial part in
handling projects effectively in an organization. In the project management overview, a
lot of current challenges that needed to face for an organization. Moreover, project
management provides a plan for an entire project. It has its own process or life cycle
which facilitate the project from the beginning until the project is fully done as well as the
different tools and technologies being used throughout the process. I learned also that
project management has many areas: scope, time, cost, quality, human resource,
communication, risk and etc., which the speaker detailed each definition during the
lecture.
Everything that has tackled is very diligent. It is truly aligned with my future job as
a mechanical engineer which provides basic understanding on how to manage thing in
the field. Furthermore, the speaker provides enough thoughts and explanations
regarding every subject matter that is being discussed. The common project terms that
an engineer always face in project management guild and the plan provided in
stablishing the project answering the 5-W and 2-H questions regarding in project
management. The speaker honestly provides current challenges in project management
like achieving the ROI, lack rigor in risk management, inappropriate scope definition and
etc., which provides a must for an engineer to study the project management.
Much more, a lot of subtopics mentioned a long with the discussion of the
speaker. A lot of guidance and strategies that can be used for doing a project, a lot of
planning options that will help the engineer do and finished the job. It is a must for an
individual, like engineers to have knowledge in project management.
Lastly, it is enjoyable webinar and much learnings I gained from the topic. The
speaker is great and able to clarify and give everything about the topic. Indeed, project
management is a helpful tool to be successful.
