THE ATTENTION OF 15 PARTICIPANTS ON THE

STROOP TASK PARADIGM

OBJECTIVES OF YOUR
RESEARCH

The researchers want to examine if oils, especially eucalyptus oil

can enhance the attention of an individual. The study aims to
answer if there is a significant difference between the measured
attention of the participants when the intervention of the
eucalyptus oil is applied compared to the measured attention
that they acquired at the absence of the oil.

measured attention of the
participants when the
Eucalyptus Oil is applied.

FINDINGS
The researchers used the
comparison of the mean scores
among the participants'
response time during the pre-
test (M=1194.96, SD=428.50) and
the post test (M=1058.94,
SD=314.43).

A Wilcoxon signed-rank test

showed that the effect of
eucalyptus oil on the 15
participants elicit a statistically
significant difference in their
attention span (p=0.020 which is
less than 0.05)
FUTURE RESEARCH

May use other chemicals or substances as an

alternative variable to eucalyptus oil. This
approach might also identify another
substance that has a greater effect on the
attention span of an individual.

THE RESULTS OF THE STUDY CAN BECOME...

A basis or a future reference for other studies

that focuses on attention as its primary
variable and may give a background on how
aromatherapy affects attention.

In relation to our study, though Essential Oils presented effects on the attention
span of the participants, it is raised that the effect cannot be deemed absolute
and must take into consideration the external factors that may pose an effect
towards the material used. Future related research can benefit from this study as
they will fill the missing aspects in the current paper as well as search for other
substances that can affect the human body whether physically or mentally.
