Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 4 Speaking task forum and practice
session.

1. Activity Description

Type of activity: Individual


Evaluation moment: Intermediate Unit 2
Highest score of the activity: 90 points
The activity starts on: Monday, June 28, The activity ends on: Sunday, July 18,
2021 2021
With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

The student will be able to describe orally experiences and facts or dreams, linking
phrases with fluency, self-confidence, vocabulary, and pronunciation in an interview
developed with the tutor by skype.

The activity consists of:

An activity where will be evaluated the students´ oral skill, through a video and an
interview that the student must present to the teacher.

Check out and study the online content of the module 5 and Module 6 which are
located in the E-book of Learning Environment.

Stage 1: Develop the module activities.

Develop the activities of module 5:


 Topic 3. Reviewing past participle form of irregular verbs,
 Topic 5. Comparing past simple and present perfect
 Topic 6. Read the following information about these famous people
 Topic 7. Connecting the past and present using for and since

All the practices are to study the use of Present perfect.

Send and share the 4 screenshots of the activity of module 5 in the Discussion Forum
- Unit 2 - Task 4 - Speaking task forum and practice session.

Stage 2. Record a video.

Read the information on Topic 6, Module 5. Look at the examples of three biographies
of three famous people. This information uses the PRESENT PERFECT structure.
Taking into account these examples, record a video giving information about you using
the same structure. Previously to this, you must create your script and practice the
pronunciation to achieve a good video.

You can record the video with the tool that you decide (cellphone, camera, and
computer) and upload it to Youtube, Vimeo, loom, screencast, or any tool that allows
you to do it, with the purpose to obtain a link.

You must share the link to your video in the forum.

I am Laura Serrano. I have studied Psychology since 2018. I have lived in Valledupar since I was a child.
I have been in this beautiful city for 31 years. I have enjoyed all the landscapes and the river in this
city. I am united with Carlos Sanchez, I have been married for 3 years but I have had a relationship
since 2016. I am an engineer and I have worked in the Bayer laboratory for 5 years. I like movies too
much, I have watched bad and good movies. The best movie I have seen is The Hunger Games and the
worst movie I have seen is Grown-ups 2. I have had good experiences traveling. I have traveled to San
Andrés, Amazonas and Guajira. These three places have impacted to me positively.

Stage 3: Post your video link in the forum.

Each student, individually must publish his/her link video in the forum. You don´t have
to upload files to the forum, you only send the link, with a short explanation about
what about is his/her experience. So your teacher and partners can watch it and send
to you the feedback.

Is necessary to use images as an illustration of what you explain.

To have in mind: If you upload your videos on time at least a week before the activity
closes, you will have the chance of the feedback from your tutor and you can improve
your video uploading it again to have a better score.

Stage 4: feedback
Each student must send his/her feedback to his/her partner’s video in the collaborative
forum. It must help to improve the contributions and help to correct the mistakes. Each
student must send at least one feedback.

Note: In case a student has sent his/her contribution on time but any other one has
sent his/her participation. This student must send a message inviting the group
member to participate and signing the due dates of the activity, besides can send a
motivational message as a way to encourage the group member’s participation.

Stage 5: send your final task


The student must upload a PDF document with 4 screenshots of the activity of module
5. Besides he/she must add the link of the video. This pdf document must contain
cover, name, link of the video.

Stage 6: Interview
Each tutor will send a drive file to the students by internal mail of the course, in which
each student has to register previously to present an interview with his/her tutor by
skype. For this interview the student has to register previously, choose a date and an
hour in which he/she will develop the interview.

Each student has to have skype count and write it in the drive file sent by the tutor.

In the interview each student has to talk about the experience he/she has recorded
and has sent by the forum, and he/she must answer questions about the experience
that the teacher will do to the student.

All the questions in the interview are about your personal information.

Some possible questions to answer in the interview are:


1. How many countries or cities have you been to so far? Which ones?
2. Tell me about the most unusual food you have eaten in your life.
3. What’s the best movie you have seen so far?
4. What’s the worst movie you have seen to?
5. Have you met a famous person?
6. What’s the best concert you have been to?
7. Have you ever broken a part of your body?
8. What’s the most dangerous sport or activity you have done?
9. Which has been the best trip you have had?

Note: Is necessary that the student publishes his/her video and all the practices before
to the interview. It is the way the student prepares for the interview. In the interview,
the student has to use the present perfect to answer the questions.

The student is responsible to register for the interview on time.


With a week to close the activity, the teacher will not answer for the interview space.
For that reason, register and keep a space previously.

For the development of the activity consider that:

At initial information environment, you must check the agenda out to verify the
opening and closing of the task.
At evaluation environment, you must upload a PDF document with the screenshots
of the activities developed in module 5 and the link of the video required in the guide.
At learning environment, you must check out and study the online content.
Enter to the forum and participate with your screenshots and your video in the
development of the collaborative task.

Evidences of individual work:


The individual evidence to be submitted is:

-Participation in the forum with the instructions given in the guide. Practices of
Module 5.
-Link of video in Present perfect.
-Participation in the interview with his/her tutor by skype.
-Final task sent by Evaluation environment in word document with the
screenshots of the activities developed in module 5, and the link of the video required
in the guide.

The collaborative evidence to be submitted is:

The feedback sent to the partners according to his/her video in the forum.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

 For Individual evidences, consider the following: Every member of the group
must participate with academic’s contributions in the activity development.

 Before delivering the requested product, all the requirements indicated in this
activity guide must be checked.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
among others, are the following: paragraph e) Plagiarism is to present as your own
work all or part of a written report, task or document of invention carried out by
another person. It also implies the use of citations or lack of references, or it
includes citations where there is no match between these and the reference and
paragraph f) To reproduce, or copy for profit, educational resources or results of

The academic penalties students will face are:

a) In case of academic fraud demonstrated in the academic work or evaluation, the
score obtained will be zero (0.0) without any disciplinary measures being derived.
b) In case of proven plagiarism in academic work of any nature, the score obtained
will be zero (0.0), without any disciplinary measures being derived.

First evaluation High level: The student records the video talking about his/her
standard unusual experience using the Present perfect tense. The video
(Criterion): is clear, with good sound and understandable with minimal or no

5 and send the screenshots required in the guide, besides he/she
talks with the tutor considering the information given in the
guide in the interview by skype.
This standard If your work is at this level, you will get from 25 points
represents 30 to 30 points

his/her unusual experience but in it doesn´t use the Present
perfect tense. The video is not so clear, with some problems
sound and pronunciation errors. He/she develops the activities
of module 5 but send only a part of the screenshots required in
the guide, besides he/she talks with the tutor considering the
information given in the guide in the interview by skype.

If your work is at this level, you will get from 24 points


to 13 points

Low level: The student doesn´t record the video talking


about his/her unusual experience and doesn´t use the Present
perfect tense. The video is not sent, or presents many
problems sound and pronunciation errors. He/she doesn´t
develop the activities of module 5 and didn´t send the

screenshots required in the guide, besides he/she doesn´t
present the interview by skype.
If your work is at this level, you will get from 12 points
to 0 points

Second evaluation High level: The student participates in the collaborative forum,
standard sending the screenshots about the activities of module 5,
(Criterion): applying the contents of the unit, besides the student send the
Participation & feedback to his/her partners. The student participates in the
interaction interview with good preparation.
If your work is at this level, you will get from 25 points
to 30 points

This standard Medium level: The student participates in the collaborative
