Each school or organization should have a clear vision, mission, goals and objectives in order to be
successful, but every school has different vision, mission, goals and objectives like our school the Surigao
del Sur State University (SDSSU).

Our school vision states; “A leading “glocal" University with widened academic perspectives that
focus on attaining food security, supporting poverty alleviation, developing renewable energy and
conserving natural environment.” Our vision meaning is to have a progressive leadership in higher
education for quality life and sustainable development, while our mission is to provide advanced
education, professional and higher technological instruction, and trainings in various fields of
specialization, also undertake research, extension, and entrepreneurial activities for the development
needs of nation.

Surigao del Sur State University has specific goals in the four fold functions with objectives. The
first one is the instruction, its goal is to develop highly competent, globally competitive and morally
upright graduates. Second is research, to continously enrich the knowledge and skills of the personnel
for the development of corresponding researches. Third is the extension, to promote relevant
technologies/services for efficient utilization of community resources. The last one is the production, to
create new and sustained income through financing entrepreneurial opportunities to support the
improvement of the productivity of the University.

To achieve those goals, we must be clear what success looks, understand why goal is important
and track the performance in order for us to know if we’re doing our best to achieve the goals.
