SHOULD EUTHANASIA OR PHYSICIAN-ASSISTED SUICIDE BE LEGAL?

“Mercy killing”, “Physician-Assisted Suicide”, “Murder”,these are the terms we usually

hear when we talk about euthanasia. Whatever it may be it only means one thing, it is to end
someone else’s life. There are numerous debate regarding euthanasia but does this issue being
legalized or not, need to be a concern?

According to Christian Nordqvist, Euthanasia means to take deliberate action with the
express intention of ending a life to relieve intractable suffering.In short it is taking someone’s
life to end his/her suffering. Some interpret this as ending of life in a painless manner. With our
society right now, they see euthanasia as a right thing to do. Don’t use the life of someone to
push the legalization of euthanasia. Euthanasia is morally wrong in all aspect. It is illegal to help
somebody kill themselves regardless of the circumstances and majority of the countries know
that euthanasia is against the law. Life is the most precious gift that God gave to us and we must
treasure it. Are we sure that when we end the suffering of someone, he will live happily and free
from pain? I think not because no one knows what will happen after we die. We should not be
the one to decide the day when they will die. Only God knows the right time when we will die.
When we legalized euthanasia, it will mean that it is normal to end our life whenever we want to
give up. There is a purpose why we are living in this world and sometimes challenges are meant
to test our faith to God.If you don’t overcome it, you will lose hope to go on with your
life.Another reason why euthanasia should not be legalized is because it also means that we do
not recognize his right to live in this world. Even there is a small chance that he will live, let us
believe that over all the pain there’s a reason why you’re still here.

Still, there are lot of issues about euthanasia. Deciding whether this to be legalized or not.
Each of us has their own stand regarding this issue. All I could say is euthanasia is not a solution
to the problem.Let us think first before making a decision. The sad truth is our society has lost its
ability to find meaning in suffering.
