General Instructions
(i) All questions are compulsory.
(ii) This question paper consists of of 30 questions divided into four sections A, B, C, and D.
(iii) Section A comprises of 6 questions of 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 6 questions of 2 marks each.
Section C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each and Section D comprises of 8 questions of
4 marks each.
Section E contains 5 questions of 4 marks each.
(iv) There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in four questions of
3 marks each and three questions of 4 marks each. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in
all such questions.
(v) Use of calculators is not permitted.

1. In fig. E is any point on median AD of a ABC . Show that ar(ABE) = ar(ACE).
11. Determine the volume of a conical vessel having radius of the base as 5 cm and its slant
height as 13 cm. (use = 3.14)
12. Find p(0), p(1) and p(2) for each of the polynomial p(x) = 4x2 + x – 5

13. So that the sum of the angles in the four segments exterior to a cyclic quadrilateral is equal to 6 right
angles.
14. An unbiased dice is thrown. What is the probability of getting:
(i) an even number
(ii) a multiple of 3
(iii) an even number or a multiple of 3
(iv) an even number and a multiple of 3
(v) a number 3 or 4
(vi) an odd number
15. If the perimeter of a triangle is 300 cm and its sides are in the ratio 5 : 12 : 13, find area of the triangle.

21. Find the area of a triangle whose perimeter is 180 cm and two of its sides are 80 cm and
18 cm. Also calculate the altitude of the triangle corresponding to the shortest side.

23. The Fig. shows a pentagon ABCDE, EG, drawn parallel to DA, meets BA produced at G,
and CF, drawn parallel to DB, meets AB produced at F.
25. In Fig. ABC is an isosceles triangles in which AB = AC. Side BA is produced to D such
that AD = AB. Show that BCD is a right angle.

26. ABCD is a trapezium in which AB || CD and AD = BC (see. Fig.). Show that:

27. ABCD is a parallelogram X and Y are the mid-points of BC and CD respectively. Prove

28. Shivansh has a gift placed in a cuboidal box of dimensions 80 cm, 40 cm and 20 cm. He
wants to cover the box nicely to present it to his birthday. Instead of using coloured
paper, he decided to use squared papers of old magazines of side 40 cm each.
(i) How many square sheets of magazine paper are required?
(ii) What value is depicted from this act?

is listed below.

Find the respective probability of each event and check that the sum of all probabilities
is 1.
