1. SCOPE:
This document applies to the preparation of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for
Pressure test. This will help out to easy understanding of procedure.

2. OBJECTIVE:
This document describes how to perform pressure testing.

3. PROCEDURE:
Loop:
 Fill the softened water in the tank up to 40% through pump. Close all the drain points
& all the POU in the system.
 Start control panel & the system in manual mode.
 Start the Pump.
 Slowly close the return line valve and then close the pump discharge valve, and
meanwhile stop the pump and see that there is pressure rise in the line.
 Pressurize the entire loop gradually in step with the help of Hydro hand pump. (1.5
times it’s design Pressure).
 Set the pressure as per the requirement and wait for 2 hour and check the pressure

4. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA:
 No leak detected
 A pressure drop of less than 3% per hour

NOTE: Water filling will be done manually for dead end piping system, and then
pressurize the system through the lower end and air gets vented out through the other
higher end.

5. MATERIAL/ EQUIPMENTS:
 Pump
 Pressure gauge

6. SAFETY:
 Ensure that gauge should be calibrated.
