Commissive – a type of illocutionary act


which commits the speaker to doing
something in the future. Examples of a
commissive act are promising,
planning, vowing, and betting.

Moving on to number 2, The Apology Song:

Diego deeply expressed his apology to Toro
with the lyrics, I offer an apology. Toro, I am
sorry. This is an example of the fourth
classification of illocutionary act- expressive
Expressive – a type of illocutionary act in
which the speaker expresses
his/her feelings or emotional reactions. Some

are thanking, apologizing, welcoming and
deploring.
