1 Find the number of ordered pairs (p, q) such that p,q are
both primes less than 50 and pq + 1 is divisible by 12. [10]
2 Let S(n) denotes sum of digits of n. Find number of dis-
tinct natural numbers n such that S(S(n)) = 1. [10]
3 Let an = n2 + 20 ∀n ∈ N . Prove that, gcd(an , an+1 ) divides
81. [10]
4 Rachel has 5 colors of paint and wants to paint 4 walls
of his bedroom. What is the number of ways in which
exactly 2 of the walls will be painted the same color? [10]
5 b = 5445, a = 7056. Find all possible k ∈ N such that a and
kb have same number of divisors. [10]
6 Write the numbers 1 to 10 around a circle in any order
you wish. Then write down the all possible sums of any
3 consecutive numbers present in the circle. Prove that,
you will get at least 17 in one of the sums. [10]
