    Amendment sheet no. 1203 : January 1996

    The following amendments are made to CS 1:1990, Volume 2 :

    1. Section 16, Clause 16.6, last sentence, p.28 : replace by

    All measurements of dimensions shall be recorded to the nearest 0.1 millimetre.

    2. Section 16, Clause 16.6.2, clause title, p.28 : replace by

    Rectilinear specimens (excluding cubes)

    3. Section 16, Clause 16.6, p.28 : add the following sub-clause

    16.6.3 Cubes

    The cube dimensions between the centres of the three pairs of opposing faces
    shall be measured with a calliper. The volume V1 of the cube (in m3) shall be
    determined from the measured dimensions.

    4. Section 16, Clause 16.9.2(b), 2nd line, p.29 :

    change "Cl. 16.6" to "Cl. 16.7"

    5. Section 21, Clause 21.8.2, 2nd para., 3rd line, p.48 :

    change "Cl. 1.8.3" to "Cl. 21.8.3"

    6. Appendix C, Clause C12, 2nd para., p.65 : replace the paragraph by

    The flatness and parallelism requirements of the steel loading pieces along the
    length of the strips shall be within the tolerances for auxiliary platens given in
    Cl. 5.3 of this Appendix.

    7. Appendix C, Clause C16, p.66 : replace the clause by

    A horizontal steel plate with an upper surface having a flatness tolerance of 0.03
    mm, and a Rockwell (Scale B) Hardness Value of at least 95 when tested in
    accordance with BS 891 : Part 1.
