What can I do
Coronavirus disease 2019, also known as SARS-CoV 2 or Covid-19 is a contagious
disease caused by infection with the severe acute respiratory syndrome. The name of the
virus came from crown-like thorns in the surface of a single virus, the Latin word for crown is
coronam and that is why it is called coronavirus. The first known case was found in Wuhan
China in December 2019. The virus rapidly spread in the city and so does in the whole
country, it even moved from country to country that led the whole world to pandemic.

Some symptoms of Covid-19 are variable, but often include fever, cough, headache,
fatigue, breathing difficulties, loss of smell and taste. Symptoms may begin experiencing it
around 2-14 days after the exposure to the virus. At least a third of people who are infected
do not develop noticeable symptoms of those people who develop noticeable symptoms.
Older people are at a higher risk of developing severe symptoms.

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant loss of human life around the
world, and it poses an unparalleled threat to public health, the food system and workplace.
Tens of millions of people are at risk of slipping into extreme poverty as a result of the
pandemic’s economic and social disruption. While the number of people who are
undernourished, which is currently estimated to be about 690 million may rise to 132 million
by the end of the year.

Hundreds of millions of businesses are in danger of bankruptcy. Nearly half of the

world’s 3.3 billion workers are in danger of losing their jobs. Workers in the informal sector
are especially vulnerable because they lack social security and quality health care, as well
as having lost access to productive assets. Many people are unable to feed themselves and
their families during lockdowns because they lack the resources to make a living. For most
people, no money, no food, or at the very least less food that is less healthy.
