Primary characteristics
NAF-Knife, knife gate valves are available as standard with
the body made of cast iron or stainless steel. The distinctive
features of these vales are:
two versions - knife gate or through-going gate for
more difficult operating conditions.
body cast in one piece for valves with knife gate.
body consisting of two cast halves which are bolted
together for valves with through-going gate.
full bore.
metal or soft seat for leakage proof shut-off. The soft
seal is available in a number of different grades of
rubber or of PTFE.
internal, conical shaped body with increasing space
from packing box and downwards to avoid build-up.
guide inside the body for the gate which also increases
back flow resistance.
the packing box is provided with two packing rings with
intermediate pre-set O-ring to minimise leakage.
non-rising stem also available.
protections for moving parts (gate and stem) delivered
as standard at remote control application.
various shapes of ports available with different control
characteristics (V, Square and Pentagonal port)
deflector which protects the gate seal against abbrasive
medias. Can be ordered as a separate part.
several types of limit switches and solenoid valves
available as options.

Applications
Depending on the material combination selected, NAF-
Knife, knife gate valves are suitable for pulp, alkalies, fluids
with high fibre contents, waste water, air and powder. The
through-going gate version is employed for more difficult
operating conditions, e.g. when the solids is high such for
pulp, slurries or for powder (coal powder, cement etc) Technical specification
