Module Title: Andragogy: Adult Learning Theory

Overview
Adult learners learn differently than children do. Most of educators categorize adult learning and adult education
from different areas of education.
This module provides information about the proponent of the adult learning, Malcolm S Knowles. It also includes of
the following topics; the chart summarizes the assumptions and processes of pedagogy and andragogy, the different
models that are applicable to adult learning and the andragogical principles. It will focus also in identifying particular
characteristics of adult learner.
Time needed to complete: 6 hours
Module Objectives: The module aims to:
1. Introduce the different concepts about adult learner.
2. Evaluate the differences between pedagogy and andragogy.
3. Allow the students to formulate their own assessment

After successful completion of this module, you should have the ability to:
1. Recognize Malcolm S. Knowles as the proponent of the adult learning.
2. Analyze the different models on adult learning.
3. Explain the characteristics of an adult learner.

3. Enumerate the different goals and purposes of adult learning?
