ART APP – REFLECTION

Patch Adams

The movie titled Patch Adams want to tell us that we should take care of our physical,
mental and emotional health. In the beginning of the movie shows that Patch Adams
experiencing depression so he admitted on mental facilities. Nowadays, many people are
depressed and the worst it can lead to suicide. Depress people need a listener and a friend that
accompany them. We can be a hero to others, in the movie shows that Patch helps the patients by
his funny action and make them laugh beside of his profession. Laughing is the best medicine it
can cure and make as live longer. Strengthen community action, in the movie shows that Patch
opened the free medical clinic to help other people that can’t afford in other hospital. Nowadays,
our society needs free medical facilities and service for those who are poor and can’t afford the
bills on hospital. Our job is to increase health that means improving the quality of life, not just
delaying death. Health is the top priority and should take care of action for it. Be nice and kind to
others, Patch is being nice and treat his patients nicely so that they love Patch very well. Being
nice and kind is the best weapon, every time there’s someone need help, we need to help them.
Emotional Intelligence is what we need, in the movie shows that Patch communicate and be
friends to his patients over his profession. Sometimes, emotional intelligence is what we need
because it’s useless if we are too serious about our profession and don’t communicate or
cooperate to others. Developing own skills, Patch help himself to recover from depression and
pursue his dream to be a doctor. He became a great doctor despite of not believing of him and
being funny. Our self is our teacher and friend when it comes to experiencing struggles in life we
are the one that help our self to achieve our dreams in life. Believe in self, Patch believe to his
self that one day he become a professional doctor. He helps many patients during his intern days
but some doctors don’t believe him and he is weird on the eyes of them. Accept each other
differences, Patch accepts his patients despite of being rude and don’t like him in the beginning
but became his friend after a long day of Patch beside them.
