Partnership
When two or more than two
persons run a business jointly,
they are called partners and
the deal is known as
partnership.
1.Anand and Deepak started a
business investing Rs.22,500
and Rs.35,000 respectively. Out
of a total profit of Rs. 13,800.
Deepak's share is?
Solution
Ratio of their shares
= 22500 : 35000
= 9 : 14
Deepak's share
=Rs.(13800×14 / 23)=Rs. 8400
Anand share
=Rs.(13800×9/23)=Rs. 5400
= 8400 + 5400=13800
2.A, B and C started a business
by investing Rs. 1,20,000, Rs.
1,35,000 and ,Rs.1,50,000
respectively. Find the share of
each, out of an annual profit of
Rs. 56,700.
Solution
ratio of share
A:B:C=120000:135000:150000=8:9:10
A's share=56700 x 8/27=16800
B's share=56700 x 9/27=18900
C's share=56700 x 10/27=21000
3.Alfred started a business investing Rs.
45,000. After 3 months, Peter joined him
with a capital of Rs. 60,000. After another 6
months, Ronald joined them with a capital
of Rs. 90,000. At the end of the year, they
made a profit of Rs. 16,500. Find the share
of each.
Ratio of the share of Alfred ,Peter and
Ronald is
45000x12:60000x9:27000x3=2:2:1
share of Alfred=2/5x 16500=6600
share of peter=2/5x16500=6600
share of ronald =3300
4. Reena and Shaloo are
partners in a business, Reena
invests Rs, 35,000 for 8 months
and Shaloo invests Rs. 42,000
for 10 months, out of a profit of
Rs. 31,570, Reena's share is :
Explanation:
Ratio of their shares = (35000 x 8) :
(42000 x 10) = 2 : 3.
Reena's share Rs. 31570 x (2 / 5) =
Rs. 12628.
5.Kamal started a business investing
Rs 9000. After five months, Sameer
joined with a capital of Rs 8000. If at
the end of the year, they earn a profit of
Rs. 6970, then what will be the share of
Sameer in the profit ?
Solution
Now as per question, Kamal invested for 12 months
and Sameer invested for 7 months.
So Kamal : Sameer = (9000 × 12) : (8000 × 7)
= 108000 : 56000
= 27 : 14
Sameer Ratio in profit will be
=6970×14 / 41=Rs. 2380
6 .A, B and C start a business each
investing Rs 20000 After 5 months A
withdraw Rs 5000, B withdraw Rs 4000
and C invests Rs 6000 more At the end of
the year a total profit of Rs 69900 was
recorded Find the share of each
Ratio of the capitals of A, B and C =
20000×5+15000×7:
20000×5+16000×7:
20000×5+26000×7
=205000:212000:282000=205:212:282
A's share =Rs.(69900× 205/699)=RS.20500
B's share =Rs.(69900×212/699)=RS.21200
C's share =Rs.(69900×282/699)=RS.28200
7.A invested Rs. 76,000 in a
business. After few months, B
joined him Rs. 57,000. At the end of
the year, the total profit was divided
between them in ratio 2 : 1. After
bow many months did B join?
Solution
76000 x 12 / 57000 x X = 2 / 1
solving we get x=8

on solving ans IS AFTER 4 months b

joined n he invested for 8 monthes
8.A starts business with Rs. 3500
and after 5 months, B joins with A
as his partner. After a year, the
profit is divided in the ratio 2 : 3.
What is B's contribution in the
capital?
Let B's capital be Rs. x.

Then, 3500 x 12 / 7x X = 2 / 3
=>14x = 126000
=>x = 9000
9.A, B, C subscribe Rs. 50,000
for a business. A subscribes Rs.
4000 more than B and B Rs.
5000 more than C. Out of a total
profit of Rs. 35,000, A receives:
Let us,
C investment = x
B investment = x+5000
A investment = 4000+(x+5000)
=>then the total of whole investment :
=> x+ (x+5000)+ (x+9000) = 50000
=> 3x+14000 = 50000
=> 3x= 50000-14000
=> x= 12000
amount of A investment =
4000+12000+5000
amount of A investment = 21000
= (21000/50000) x 35000
= Rs. 14700
10.A and B started a partnership business
investing some amount in the ratio of 3 :
5. C joined then after six months with an
amount equal to that of B. In what
proportion should the profit at the end of
one year be distributed among A, B and
C?
initial investments of A and B be 3x
and 5x.

A : B : C = (3x x 12) : (5x x 12) : (5x

x 6) = 36 : 60 : 30 = 6 : 10 : 5
