H omework Policies
All homework MUST be turned in at the beginning of class on the assigned due date.
Students will get “Time Turner” late passes each quarter. Late work WILL NOT be accepted
without a late pass!
Homework will always be posted on the whiteboard in the front of the room and on Google
Classroom. It is the responsibility of the student to write homework assignments in their
assignment notebook on a daily basis.
All COMPLETED homework assignments turned in on time will be eligible for assignment
corrections. This is an opportunity to practice the assignment again AND gain a better
understanding of the skill.

Absences:
If you are asked to quarantine and need to stay home from school, please
check Google Classroom to see what we are working on. I will be available via
email or chat on GoGuardian during that time if you have questions.

Check Google Classroom and the Google Calendar to see any assignments you
may have missed. It is always helpful to email teachers when you are gone to
find out what work you missed! Then, when you’re back, get the materials you
need from your teacher.

As stated in the school student handbook, students will have as many days
(max of 3 days) as they were absent to complete work missed due to absence.

Community Expectations
1. Be respectful
2. Be responsible
3. Be ready to learn
4. Be a leader

In this class, we will do a lot of our work in small groups, both in person and online. These
groups will change throughout the year, and sometimes throughout each unit. Within these
small groups, you will celebrate strengths and offer suggestions for reading and writing. As a
class, we will work together to create an atmosphere that is positive, supportive, and
uplifting. When you walk in this room every day, I expect that you are ready to actively
contribute to this classroom environment! It’s up to YOU to have an awesome year.
