Notes and Remarks:

See Garmin Report 005-00329-06 Supplemental Qualification Summary for substantiating data.

1. Qualification to additional levels and configurations are shown in Garmin Report 005-00329-06 (Supplemental
Qualification Summary).

2. Sinusoidal Test Curves L and Y were combined into one Test Curve that met or exceeded the requirements of
both curves. DO-160E was used for these tests.

3. Fluids Susceptibility – spray tested with exposure to the following fluids:

De-Icing Fluid – SAE Type I
Anti-Icing Fluid – SAE Type IV
Av Gas – 100LL
Jet A Fuel
Denatured Alcohol
Isopropyl Alcohol
Mineral Based Hydraulic Fluid (MIL-PRF-5606)
Phosphate Ester Based Hydraulic Fluid (Skydrol L4)

4. The GA 58 is a passive antenna and therefore no testing is required.

5. GA 58 antenna continues to provide all system functionality after the completion of RTCA/DO-160E Section 23
Lightning Direct Effects Category 2A testing. Additional RTCA/DO-160F Section 23 Lightning Direct Effects
Category 1A1A testing was conducted on the GA 58. The coaxial cable RF connectors disengaged from the
antenna, post high current Category 1A lightning test, but no part of the antenna departed the test setup. The
coaxial cable RF connectors should be inspected after a suspected lightning attachment, if the GA 58 is installed
in Zone 1A, to insure that the coaxial cable RF connectors are secured to the antenna.

6. DO-160F was used for Category U, Test Curve G. Resonant frequency changes are noted below, per Section
8.8.2 Sine-on-Random Test Procedure. Shaded Cells indicate that no resonant frequency was observed during
sweep.

GA 58 Resonant Frequencies
