POSITION PAPER

Delegate : Argentina
Topic : Myanmar Political Crisis Issues

Argentina is experiencing a crisis that shows how difficult a democratic process can be. Political
stability that can be obtained through a strong and authoritarian government can actually lead to a
more democratic process. On the other hand, in a civil government that is engulfed in an economic
crisis, the democratic process actually brings political instability. The strength of the Peronists in
parliament and the weakness of the government towards the people resulted in a government that fell
and rose. This actually weakened the handling of the economic crisis.

Argentina's economic crisis in 1999 is considered to be the result of the excessive power of the
President (Carlos Menem) as was the case during the military government. The democratic process
and the demands of the people by taking to the streets actually lead to political instability. The rise of
Nestor Kirchner in 2003 was preceded by the resignation of the presidential candidate who won the
first round of elections, which was none other than Carlos Menem. But this process is often cited as
the beginning of political and economic stability in Argentina

From that political crisis issues we must take action immediately to save the country from various
threats, so the Republic of Argentina we are agree and supports the Resolution of the United Nations
Security Council to condemning the Military Junta by ending violence, they have to freeing political
prisoners which one is Aung San Suu Kyi as a elected President who won the Election Presidential
2020 ago, we’re also agree if UN would to arms embargo on Myanmar. Through the proper action
from the UN it would be possible to defuse the situation that currently threatens the stability of the
state or the civil society. And, when the resolutions failed the United Nations should take further
action.

We the just Argentine government, basically insist on supporting all the elected leaders and civilians
who are literally reported to have been detained in this coup situation, most of which are quite
significant. We are deeply concerned by the general human rights violations information from Human
Rights that the use of force against anti-coup demonstrators specifically resulted in at least 18 deaths
and for all intents and purposes more than 30 others against what could have been. If this is done, in
particular, it can actually be intercepted in order to maintain security so that it does not end in the
bloodshed and the lives of the people subtly. Wireless internet access in particular is also restricted or
cut off in some areas, which is particularly significant. Moreover, we note the steps that largely have
to be taken to create democracy for the sake of achieving peace and immediately following the
violence against protesters. With possible handling, we also hope that the condition of the Rohingya
Muslims will not be further exacerbated by the occurrence of this conflict because most of us know
that most incidents of Rohingya Muslims are literally carried out by military personnel. With this, on
the basis of Myanmar's independence, humanity, justice, trust and sovereignty, we are definitely ready
to support taking a firm stance largely against the military coup and most will continue to basically
push and basically push for Myanmar's development back on the path of democracy as soon as
possible.

Our description of the coup in Myanmar resulted in a solution to the conflict, namely Argentina
proposed a dialogue between the Myanmar government led by President Win Myint and State
Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi and the Military Commander Senior General Min Aung Hlaing plus
community elements represented by religious leaders. Of course, before dialogue, it is necessary to
carry out initial restoration, the entire political chain, as well as forgiveness of those involved in the
military coup.
