Definition of Bank - Basic functions of Banker; Banking System in India; Different
types of Banks; Constitution, Objectives, Functions of RBI; Tools of Monetary
Control; Regulatory Restrictions on Lending;

Module 2: Banking Products and Services (1 session) 2 Hrs


Types of bank deposits, computation of interest on deposits, deposit schemes,
composition of bank deposits. Credit policy: Need for credit policy, credit policy
components of credit policy, credit policy pursued by the government, credit
culture. Loan Process and documentation.

Module 3: Lending Services (2 sessions of 2 hrs each) 4 Hrs


Practice and Policies governing the employment of the funds in the hands of the
banker with special reference to the lending banker State Policy on Loans and
Advances - Priority sector advances and socioeconomic policies - Financial
inclusion - Self- Employment Schemes - Women Entrepreneurs - Small Scale
Industries - Agricultural Finance, Export Finance, etc. – Micro Finance - How the
banker profitably uses the fund - Call loans and loans repayable at short notice -
Loans and advances - Overdrafts - Legal control over bank’s deployment of funds.

Module 4 Priority Sector Financing (1 session) 2 Hrs


Targets for funding to priority sector, credit guarantee schemes, SSI loan
guarantee schemes, guidelines for financing priority sectors. Kinds of borrowers in
the priority sector; Financing of Agriculture: Lending procedure for Agriculture
loans, guidelines for recovery of Agriculture advances, Rashtriya Krishi Bima
Yojna, Kisan Credit Card Scheme, Small Farmers Development Agencies.; Anciliary
Services of the Bank

Module 5: Borrower’s Profile assessment and Documentation (1 session) 2 Hrs


Creation of Loan file, CIBIL Score and Report, Employment Status, Account Details,
Payment History, EMI to Income Ratio, KYC Norms, different schemes of
financing; use of ratio analysis for checking financial health
Module 6: Risk Management in Banks (1 session) 2 Hrs
Risk Management: An Overview, Credit Risk Management, Liquidity and Market
Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Special Issues- Risk
Management Organisation; Reporting of Banking Risk; Risk Adjusted Performance
Evaluation Basel III. NPA management

Module 7 Life Insurance (1 session) 2 Hrs


Present Organizational set-up of Insurance Companies in India – L.I.C. and Private
Companies with foreign joint ventures, selling Insurance through Agents and
Banks. Objectives of Life Insurance – Protection and Investment; Different types
of Life Insurance Policies – Chief characteristics and similarity; Basic Pre-requites
for Life Insurance – Insurable Interest and utmost Good Faith; Procedure for
taking a policy.

Module 8: Selling Skills (1 session) 2 Hrs


Explain a market; Determine factors influencing consumer behavior; Challenges in
marketing of Financial products and Services; Develop Negotiation Skills; Effective
communication for achieving good negotiation outcomes; Closing the sale.

Module 9: IT and Financial Sectors (2 session of 2hrs each) 4 Hrs


Introduction to various IT enabled products and services, basic knowledge of
banking software and process, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in
Banking
