1. In your own words, describe "reflection" as it pertains to learning.

2. Explain what you believe is the purpose and benefit of these reflection journal
assignments. Has any journal submission so far helped you gain additional
understanding about how you are approaching college so far? Explain why or why
not?
3. What can you gain by taking time to reflect on challenges AND accomplishments
throughout your college career?

1. A reflection to me is a type of meditation. It is time to look at my actions and thoughts

and determine if they are fulfilling the purposes I intend. It helps you learn more about

yourself, as you can look from an outside perspective on your situation and correct what

isn’t content.

2. I think the purpose of these reflection assignments are to keep us grounded and remind us

of what is supposed to be important during the semester. It is hard as a college student to

juggle so many things especially in the time of so much injustice in the world, so

reflections can bring our focus back to where it needs to be. Yes, I have been able to gain

an additional understanding of myself from journaling. I have found myself forgetting to

remember what is important and prioritizing work, and journals help me catch myself.

3. By taking the time to reflect on my accomplishments, I’ll be able to be more consistent

with my habits. I will gain a sense of self awareness, which will help me use my time

more effectively.
