• What is the purpose of understanding the generic leadership skill and situational leadership?
The purpose of this is to review the empirical evidence on the relative significance of
generic and contextual factors in school leadership. To know what is the core purpose of a head
teacher of which we should be aware of. Since he is the key factor of the school’s administration
therefore we should have that view of what his work should be. The outcomes of headship along
with the skills and attribute of being a leader.
* How do you know that you are a skillful and competent leader?
I guess we always have that view in ourselves as we evaluate our leadership. We know how
skillful we are according to how well we have managed our team and how we’ve led them. Highly
competent leaders do more than perform at a high level. They inspire and motivate their people to do
the same. While some people rely on relational skills alone to survive, effective leaders combine these
skills with high competence to take their organizations to a new levels of excellence and influence. But
as a good leader, we know in ourselves our abilities, strengths and weakness. There is always room for
improvement since nobody is perfect.
