1. Why should managers give importance in understanding the Human Behavior?

2. What do you prefer, a leader or a follower? Why?

3. How do you motivate yourself to study?

Answers:

1. In a workplace, there are numerous individuals with professions and with dignity. There is also diverse
behavior occurring inside and outside of a person. As a manager, understanding or knowing about human behavior
gives many intricate ideas, solutions, and innovations to the organization and as an individual. Managers are
necessary or even oblige to understand the importance of human behavior to address efficiently some problems
or conflicts that may be met. Moreover, understanding it can make the communication or the line of dialogues be
much better. This can avoid misunderstanding and miscommunication. Many problems can be irradicated easily
when communication lingers in the workplace. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the employees can be
prolonged. Giving motivational compliments can boost the efficiency of the employees and can build good to
better relationships internally and externally.

2. If I would choose between the two, I will instead pick to be a follower. Being a leader will benefit me the most
because of the superiority, power, and dominance but being a follower is not that bad to choose. Every advantage
that you may feel, indulge, or experience has a disadvantage that will soon prosper. I am not a bitter person here
but a realist instead. In reality, a leader has so many obligations and duties that need to be met and
accomplished. I, myself, experienced being a leader in a simple group activity, and it didn’t go that well that is
why being a follower will be my greatest choice among the two. I am not the type of a follower who is just
waiting for the command of the leader. I am more of a follower who suggests things, extracts creative juices,
and is efficient to the group. Moreover, being a follower will not stress me out so badly because I just suggest
things, and the leader is the one who makes the final decision and the first who set an example to us. “Being a
leader is a great thing, but for myself, I think being a leader is not meant for me.”

3. When you say the word “studying,” students are the first thing that comes out of my mind. Students are the
one who is constantly exposed to this action because students are meant to study things. Studying is always our
top priority as a university students because we cannot learn something without exploring it. However, constant
studying can make students feel pressured, stressed, and exhausted, so how can we motivate ourselves to enjoy
studying and begin to love it?

First, always think about your goals, objectives, and mission in your life. These things can uplift yourself and
motivate you to become a better version of yourself and be patient in life. Something that we desire on a long-
term basis never happens in just a span of 24 hours. Always believe in yourself that you can do it. Have the
confidence that you can surpass it even if you think it is the most challenging moment in your life. Second, rest
for a bit. If you badly need to rest, do not force yourself to work. Resting from studying cannot kill you literally.
It is also healthy to rest because your mind can function in an efficient manner if you have enough rest. And
lastly, reward yourself with even the tiniest and cheapest things. Yourself is your companion, your friend, and
even your life. Rewards are not always tangible things; they are everything as long as you feel satisfied and
happy. “I believe that the most significant gift that everyone receives is from themselves.”

The source was entitled the First Voyage Around The World By Magellan.

Autobiographical accounts, original documents (manuscripts), with notes and introduction

Antonio Pigafetta studied astronomy, geography, and cartography and was an Italian scholar. He accompanied
Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano in the famous expedition to the Moluccas, which began in August
1519 and ended in September 1522.

In my sentiment, the primary source has intended the people of Spain to know the source of information about
the voyage itself and how the expedition goes. Also, the said source was designed for the people of the
Philippines to understand the earliest discovered places, names of the areas, the vocabulary of the natives, food,
attire, customs, and traditions. Furthermore, Europeans are also the intended audience of this writings because,
through Pigafetta’s reports, Europeans first learned of the circumnavigation of the globe.

According to World Digital Library, the primary source was published in France, and the date created is in 1522-
1525.

According to the lecture, Saturday, March 16, 1521, was when a Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan
discovered the Philippine archipelago-Zamal. Filipino welcomed them wholeheartedly as they arrived in the isle of
Zamal. Pigafetta noticed the mysterious fruit that they had rarely seen in their life. He named it “cocho,” which
is as large as the head; its first husk is green and two fingers in thickness. Pigafettas was amazed by this tree
because it has many benefits and is very useful according to the natives. The fleet went to Humunu Island, and
there they found what Pigafetta referred to as the “Watering Place of Good Sign.” On March 25, Pigafetta
recounted seeing two balanghais, a boat full of people in Mazzava. The Europeans entertained these men and
gave them gifts. Magellan and the king of balangay exchanged gifts and expressed their desire to become
brothers.
