Verification Manual Introduction

1. Introduction

This guide contains verification test cases for the Autodesk® Inventor® Nastran® Finite Element Analysis
solver. These test cases verify the functionality of Autodesk Inventor Nastran and encompass the
different analysis types using theoretical and benchmark solutions from well-known engineering test
cases. Each test case contains all test data needed to reproduce the given results. This guide contains
test cases for:

x Linear Statics verification using theoretical solutions

x Normal Modes/Eigenvalue verification using theoretical solutions
x Normal Modes/Eigenvalue verification using standard NAFEMS benchmarks
x Verification Test Cases from the Société Francaise des Méchaniciens

1.1 Model Files Location

All the Autodesk Inventor Nastran model files (.nas) used for these test cases are located in this folder:
