Some People Believe That Spending Money On Developing Technology On Space Exploration Is Unjustifiable and There Are More Beneficial Ways To Spend This Money
The document discusses the debate around spending on space exploration technology versus spending on issues here on Earth. While there are problems here that need funding like climate change and social services, spending on space exploration has benefits that justify the costs. Advancing human knowledge of space through exploration could provide renewable energy sources and new technologies that improve lives. Understanding the universe also allows for better understanding of Earth's history and future. Overall, the benefits of space spending means funds should not be cut from space projects.

spend this money. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? n developing technology on space exploration is unjustifiable and there are more beneficial ways to spend this money. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? It is believed that funding ambitious space exploration projects is a futile endeavor; as a result, scarce financial resources should be diverted to more mundane and urgent tasks of combating existential problems on Earth. The way I view this is that it is worth spending money on exploring the outer space as its benefits justifies the humongous costs involved. It is true that there are problems that need addressing immediately here on our planet Earth. Global warming is such an issue. Unless enough funds were allocated to climate change mitigation efforts on a global scale, environmental catastrophes might happen, causing disastrous economic and social disruptions. In addition, without sufficient funding, social services like affordable healthcare and education would be beyond the reach of millions of people, which in turn can hold back the economy and hinder social progress. However, I strongly believe that funding the quests of advancing human knowledge about the outer space should be remain high on the priority list. A major justification is that the success of such efforts would benefits the entire humanity. For example, should new sources of renewable energy be found somewhere on other planets, that would help solve the current energy crisis on Earth as fossil fuels are projects to completely run out soon. Another compelling reason to advocate the cause of sending manned spacecrafts into the solar system and beyond has to do with the direct impacts the space industry has on people’s lives. Indeed, thanks to this state-of-the-art industry, many spinoff technologies like smart materials capable of filtering out harmful radiations are being increasingly adopted in daily life to make people’s lives better. Finally, as humanity’s knowledge of the universe widens, we as a race would better understand the history of the Earth as well as how it will continue to evolve. In conclusion, I am of the opinion that it is by no means a wise decision to cut off funds from space projects as the payoffs are worthwhile.
