SHOULD WE CONTINUE THE SPACE EXPLORATION?

In many countries, a big proportion of expenditure is being spent on exploring the space.

It is argued that this expenditure should be spent on other important things rather than on space

exploration. However, in my opinion, keep other significant things in mind, space program is

very crucial and important for the whole world and should be funded due to the fact that it will

help to improve the communication between countries in the world and also helping to search

a new alternate to live.

Technological advances which have been resulted from space innovations are beneficial

to mankind. First, satellite technology, playing very important role on a daily basis, is used for

broadcasting and weather forecasting. We would be able to know what is happening on Earth,

or be given early warnings of approaching storm that helps limit massive damage to human and

property with the help of satellite. Furthermore, some technologies used in medical field which

was derived from space invention. Star-mapping, for example, enables doctors to detect cancer

in the early stages and provide immediate treatment to patient. Our planet is just one of the

millions of planets in space and it has already become a crowded place. If we can find other

habitable planets, that will solve the burning issue of overpopulation on earth. Scientists are

already exploring the possibility of sending people to Mars. If we can colonize Mars, it will be

the biggest achievement in the history of human race.

By contrast, some people think that the expenditure is desperately needed to tackle

pressing problems like poverty and environmental issues. Most of humanity lives on just a few

dollars a day, especially people in Africa. What governments can do is to use the resources to

create new programs such as capital given to poor families to open a business, which leads to

real impacts on their lives. Also, the devastating effects caused by climate change have had

negative influences on agriculture. Rising temperatures is blamed for severe drought and land
degradation hitting many areas in the world, which creates instability of food supply. There are

many things in our world that have not discovered yet; do cures to AIDS and cancer ring a bell?

And what about over coming poverty? The point is, space exploration is extremely expensive.

We should find a solution to what we don't know in our world before exploring a different one.

We simply don't have the money or resources. Besides, if it's unemployment you're worried

about, more people to devote their lives to over-coming the problems we know about, and not

digging up more for us to "solve". The money therefore should be invested properly to cope

with the recent concerns more than be spent in space research.

In conclusion, you can see different ideas about the argue that space exploration is too

much expensive and the money should be spent on more important things. Elon Musk who is

the founder of SpaceX also believes that we should continue to spent on space exploration and

he says that "There have to be reasons that you get up in the morning and you want to live. Why

do you want to live? What's the point? What inspires you? What do you love about the future?

If the future does not include being out there among the stars and being a multi-planet species,

I find that incredibly depressing.".
