Space travel has brought many benefits to the human race, but the huge sums spent on it could

be more usefully applied. How far do you agree this statement? In my opinion, space exploration calms down the endless curiosity of the human race. Its true that the cost of these travels is very high but I think there are many useless things in which we invest our money, like many incompetents politicians, that is the case in Spain. Firstly, it is known that many discoveries have been made as a result of Space travels, so this is crucial for de development and progress of our society. Secondly, whether the Earth is not yet fully explored we need to find a solution for the overpopulation and the environment problems that we cause to the planet. We can stop the degeneration of the ozone layer, so it will come a moment when life will be impossible in Earth. So we may search alternatives for the future generations. On the other hand, I would note that Space exploration doesnt give us direct benefits, so in this view I would be a waste. Many people think that it would be better to spend this money on real problems of the society like hunger, poverty I would like to point that I like science fiction films because more or less they approach us to this abstract, undefined and remote world, still undiscovered. Films directors have reliable sources, like the NASA and other organisations who give them real information to make more realistic the films.
