Curriculum Concept and Its Development

There are three concepts of curriculum, curriculum as substance, as a system,
and as a field of study.
1. the curriculum as a substance
The curriculum is a plan of learning activities for students at school, or as a set
of goals to be achieved.
2. curriculum as a system
The curriculum system is part of the school system, education system, and
even the community system. A curriculum system includes a personnel
structure, and work procedures on how to compile a curriculum, implement,
evaluate, and perfect it.
3. Curriculum as a field of study
That is the field of curriculum studies. This is a field of study for curriculum
experts and education and teaching experts. The purpose of the curriculum as a
field of study is to develop knowledge about the curriculum and curriculum
system.

HISTORY OF CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT IN INDONESIA
The history of the education curriculum in Indo nesia often changes. In the
course of history since 1945, the national education curriculum has undergone
changes, namely in 1947, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1975, 1984, 1994, 2004, 2006 and
2013.
1. 1947 Lesson Plan
The first curriculum that was born during the independence period used the
term leer plan, which means lesson plans. Changes in the educational grid were
more political: from the orientation of Dutch education to the national interest.
The principle of education is set by Pancasila.
2. Lesson Plan Unraveled 1952
This curriculum details each subject in more detail called the 1952 Unpacked
Lesson Plan. “The course syllabus is very clear. a teacher teaches one subject.
3. 1964 Curriculum
The government again perfected the curriculum system in 1964, which was
called the 1964 Education Plan. This curriculum is characterized by the
government's desire that the people get academic knowledge for the provision
of elementary school level. So that learning is centered on the Pancawardhana
program, namely moral, intelligence, emotional or artistic development, skills
(skills), and physical.
4 .1968 Curriculum
The first curriculum in the New Order era. Political in nature and intended to
replace the 1964 Education Plan which was imaged as a product of the old
order. This curriculum aims to form true, strong, and physically fit Pancasila
people, enhance intelligence and physical skills, morals, character, and religious
beliefs. The 1968 curriculum is the embodiment of a change in orientation to the
pure implementation of the 1945 Constitution.
5. Curriculum 1975
The 1975 curriculum emphasizes the goal, so that education is more
efficient and effective. The teaching methods, materials, and objectives are
detailed in the Instructional System Development Procedure (PPSI). In this era,
the term "lesson unit" is known, which is a lesson plan for each unit of
discussion.
6. 1984 Curriculum
The 1984 curriculum carries a process skills approach. Although the priority
of a process approach, but the goal remains an important factor. This curriculum
is also often referred to as the "Enhanced 1975 Curriculum". Students position
placed as studying subject
7. 1994 Curriculum
The 1994 curriculum revolves around an effort to integrate the previous
curricula. "His soul wants to combine the 1975 Curriculum and the 1984
Curriculum, between the process approach".
8. Curriculum 2004
In the 2004 curriculum, each lesson is described based on what competencies
students must achieve. Unfortunately, confusion arises when it comes to
measuring student competence, namely the exam.
9. KTSP 2006
The Education Unit Level Curriculum emerged. KTSP lessons are still
stalled. The review in terms of the content and process of achieving the learning
competency targets by students to technical evaluations is not much different
from the 2004 Curriculum.
10. Curriculum 2013
The 2013 curriculum is the latest curriculum launched by the Ministry of
National Education starting in 2013 as a form of development from the previous
curriculum, namely the 2006 curriculum or KTSP which includes integrated
attitudes, knowledge, and skills competencies.

Your Critical Analysis of Curriculum Concepts and Its Development

The occurrence of curriculum changes in Indonesia is due to considering the
impact that occurs from each of these curricula, and each of these curricula has
its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, the 2013 curriculum has
several advantages over the 2006 KTSP curriculum. These advantages include:
Based on the KTSP curriculum, the subjects are determined first to set the
competency standards for graduates, but the new 2013 curriculum has a more
complete approach based on student creativity. The new curriculum fulfills
three main components of education, namely knowledge, skills and attitudes.
Of the many changes to the curriculum, I hope the government can establish a
more effective curriculum in the future
