Accomplishment Report in One Health Week Celebration

I.  Introduction
Physical fitness is not the sole basis of being healthy; being healthy means being
mentally and emotionally fit. Being healthy should be part of your overall lifestyle. Living
a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Feeling
good about yourself and taking care of your health are important for your self-esteem
and self-image. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing what is right for your body.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a country’s investments for an
effective school health program is considered to be a cost-effective investment as it
simultaneously improves health and education. Currently, school health and nutrition
programs are separately implemented by the schools on the basis of separate
issuances, orders, and memoranda. While schools will continue to follow existing
policies and guidelines for each program, schools, through OK sa Deped, will plan,
organize, implement, monitor, and evaluate these programs not as separate programs,
but as year-round school activities that complement and reinforce each other toward the
overall aim of ensuring the health and well-being of learners and personnel. Given this,
OK sa DepEd shall not be treated as a new or additional program, but as an approach
to delivering school health and nutrition programs as harmonized activities at the school
level.

II. Program Implementation

Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 28, s. 2018 entitled policy and guidelines on Oplan
Kalusugan sa Department of Education (Ok sa DepEd), Abiacao Elementary School

implementation of the latter while we are still faced in this pandemic.
The first activity focused on dental hygiene. The second day virtual activity was
about National Drug Education Program (NDEP), Appreciation Course for a  Drug-Free
Workplace. The third session tackled SBFP and ARH or Adolescent Reproductive
Health Program was discussed on the fourth day. The last day activity is about the
WINS program.  It goes beyond handwashing, toothbrushing,  water sanitation,
including food handling and preaparation, hygiene including Menstrual Health
Management, deworming and health education.    The awarding and showcasing of
best practices was shown in this virtual activity.

III. Conclusion
Durungao Elementary School will continue to support  the Ok sa Deped Program
and implement the said program so that learners, school personnel and stakeholders
will be aware about the proper health  information.  Indeed, the webinar was very
informative and beneficial that the participants and listeners gained more knowledge
about health.
