Narrative Report on Library Hub

The vision-mission statement of the Department of Education’s Library Hub

Project is anchored on the establishment of Library Hub in every schools division as
reservoir of adequate and varied quality supplementary reading materials for every
schools division nationwide. In order to realize the vision and mission of Library Hub,
it has to be institutionalized in all regions and schools divisions nationwide. In line
with this innovative initiative of putting up an infrastructure that makes available
reading materials to support the agenda of making every child functionally literate,
this Department hereby mandates the institutionalization of the Library Hub Project in
all regions and schools divisions nationwide. In order to establish a sound foundation
for its institutionalization, the Regional Directors, Schools Division Superintendents,
and school heads are hereby enjoined to lend unwavering support to the Project.
In pursuant with this, Durungao ES try to dissiminate this activity even if
during pandemic period. Just like giving of modules Durungao Es staff as well as the
parents practice the implementation of strictly physical distancing. As much as
possible, parents and staff should be spaced apart at all times. This means sitting
parents at chairs that are far apart and ensuring everyone queues and eats further
apart than normal. Visits to the toilet should be taken one at a time. Guidelines
should be put out in corridors and unnecessary staff gatherings should be avoided.
No problem was encountered during the distribution of story books from the
Library Hub since they were distributed along with the modules for 1 st quarter. Grade
3 learners enjoyed reading the books given to them. They were able to read the
stories with comprehension with the supervision of their parents. Four bins were
allotted to 10 Grade 3 learners, but 10 books were distributed to them weekly for
them to understand the story read. There are many learning task in each subject
areas that is why the teacher lessen the number of story books that will be given to
them. There are some minor problems during the retrieval because there are some
parents who were not able to return books on the given time and also not all of the
story book were read due to short period of time.
