Brazilian Journalism Research has been conducting,

throughout the years, a series of significant alterations to its editorial
structure, aiming at the systematic improvement of its practices and
processes, as well as the consolidation of its institutional mission,
particularly when it comes to contributing to strengthen the network
of journalism researchers both nationally and internationally.
Renewed internal practices follow the journal’s expansion, which is
a result of BJR’s consolidation in an international context. For this
reason, we understand the need to make additions to our
group of editors, which includes three new members from
this issue on: Débora Lapa Gadret (Unisinos University),
Kérley Winques (IELUSC College) and Nélia Rodrigues Del
Bianco (University of Brasília).
The new configuration of our Editorial Board expands our
ability to respond to yearly submissions, ensuring quality and
celerity to editorial processes. Our new members are part of BJR’

history, having published papers in our previous issues, and having

aided systematically to the evaluation of research submitted to
the journal. In this issue, the reader can verify the effectiveness of
this contributions: it can be noted that one of the new editors had
recently contributed with the review of submitted papers, having
one of her evaluations published in our repository as part of our
Open Science politics.
As we welcome our new editors, we highlight that their
cooperative spirit is recognized by our Editorial Board as one of the
many qualities of these researchers, all of which attest to their ability
to exert their news roles as editors. We hope that researchers that
submit their papers to BJR can confirm, in the years to come, our
dedication to the editorial work and the effectiveness of the group
that, with new reinforcement, keeps devoting itself to the quality and
development of BJR.
