Topic: Zoo Animals

Teaching aids/ Materials: Flashcards, Bluetooth speaker, Videoprojector;

Aim: to be able to discuss about wild animals;

Lesson Objectives:

1) to be able to recognize and name some wild animals;


2) to be able to talk about zoo animals;
3) to be able to recreate moves of some animals;

Competences: 1.1 Identify the global significance of a clearly articulated oral message in a familiar context
2.2 Participate in everyday conversations about familiar topics.
2.3 Describe people/characters in a simple way.
3.2 Understand the global significance of simple texts about familiar topics.
3.3 Understand simple familiar messages from friends, peers, and teacher.

Anticipating student’s problems:

 some students might need further help and extra indications in solving the tasks and they may also
need some of these indications to be given in Romanian;
 some students might feel nervous and reluctant to participate in the activity, so they may need
assistance;

blackboard also showing a flashcard with the
animal on it, saying and the name and the students

a video with a song about animals in a zoo and then
try to do what the children in the video and the
teacher do. The teacher will write the animals that
appear in the video in order on the blackboard.

the students will try to do the same as the teacher
does mimicking the animals’ movement. The
teacher will sing the song and the students try to
sing along.

The teacher will give some students animal riddles
while mimicking what they do and other students
have to guess what animals it is:

1. It is a big, big animal. It’s very big. It has a tail,


four legs, and two big ears. It has a long nose that is
called a trunk;
2. It is a big cat that lives in the jungle. It is also
called the king of the jungle;
3. It is brown. It has got four long legs. It has got a
long neck.

arms. He lives in the jungle and likes to climb tall
trees. He likes to eat bananas. I wish I had him for a
pet. Do you know what this animal is?
5. It is white, orange and black. It has got a long
tail. It’s very beautiful and it is also a cat in the
