Special Notes
I hope you all had a fantastic Labor Day Weekend! I
completed the PALS assessment for your child last
week and now have a more current reading level for
your child. I will have that report for you at our
parent teacher conference at the end of this month.
If you would like to view it sooner please let me know
and I can send a copy of the report home in your
child’s binder. Please make sure your child is reading
each night for homework. The goal is 15 minutes. Your
child should bring home his/her reading folder with a
book in it to practice, but your child can also always
make use of a book at home! This week I will be
sending home your child’s first math test (addition)
and social studies test (communities) in his/her binder.
Please review each test with your child. Finally, this
coming Friday we will complete our citizenship unit
test. Please be reviewing the study guide a little each
night with your child. Students should be able to define
the vocabulary words AND also apply them to real
world situations (example: Matt packs his own book
bag for school each morning. Is this showing self-
reliance?). Our class website
