1. ‘As the days went by, Zuzu got tired. She yawned all day long. Now she
wanted to sleep but you see it had been so long since she had slept that;
she could not remember how to sleep.’

a. Why was Zuzu tired?

Answer – Zuzu was tired because had not slept for a long time.

b. What did Zuzu do to try and got to sleep?

Answer – Zuzu tried to sleep by closing her eyes and smuggling down, she also
tried to count sleep as well as owls.

c. What happened to Zuzu after she could not sleep at all?

Answer – Zuzu became very tired and her eyes became red.

d. Did this work?

Answer – No this did not work.

a. What was Zuzu doing before the brush fell from her hoof?

Answer – Zuzu was painting the stripes of her mother`s back.

Answer – Because the brush fell from her hoof and her legs folded.

c. What had happened to Zuzu?

Answer – Zuzu had fallen asleep. She slept so deep that she snored and snored.

Answer – Zuzu was just like other little zebras with their stripes.

Answer – She was different from other little zebras because she loved to stay
awake.

4. How did Zuzu finally able to sleep?

Answer – Zuzu was finally able to sleep when she started painting stripes on her
mother`s back.

5. Why is sleep very important? Give examples from story.

Answer – Because our body needs to rest, if we are awake every time, we will
become tired.
