“Do you think Reading is the most important of the five Macro Skills (Listening,

Speaking, Reading, Writing and Viewing)? Why/Why not?

Yes. Because if we know how to read we are able to learn or understand

everything. Reading is something that we can do in our own that improve our

vocabulary and speaking skills by learn now words. Reading is one of the most

important and valuable skill that succeed in life. If we don’t know how to read how

we could understand the things that we don’t know and how we can survive in

society were living It build confidence and motivation to us. Reading is fun and

enjoyable because you discover new words and open your widely imagination.

This has many benefits on us to reduce stress like example you read different

stories and everything you read fill your head a new information. While reading

we are also expected to think critically on a particular subject or topic. Reading

improve the academic performance especially the good readers that have highly

professional assets, if the person does not have knowledge of reading skills they

cannot expected as a good reader. Reading is an important part of people’s lives.

We are learning new things and develop our minds and allows us for creative

thinking. We should have a lot of strong reading comprehension skills to achieve

the success you wanted and understanding the different information. Reading is

important because words is one of building block of life.

2. “What do you think is the order of the five macro skills based on how you learned

it? Explain why you come up to that order?

 Based on how I leaned it, for me the first is listening because since when I was young I

didn’t know how to speak so I just listened to my parents so I could understand what

they were saying so that I could learn slowly and interpret what I hear. .This is our first

skill that we develop because this is the start to understand the words, sounds etc.

Listening has an important role on us to enhance our language skills so that we carry

throughout our lives, without listening you understood the message or what the people

say surround us. Second, speaking because if you know how to listen you know how to

speak because you already know or understand what you’ve listen. This is use through

verbal and non-verbal. Today we practice to improve our communications skills to

communicate in other people or global world to transfer different information. We should

know the speaking strategies so we can use to expand our language and confidence in

using it. We should aware of what we are saying. Speaking can be also formal or

informal. Third, reading because if you know how to speak you will have the ability to

understand the things or written text. Some children learn the phonetic sounds of the

alphabet to easily understand the concepts of figure out the words. One of the

strategies that I use is reading loudly so I could hear myself and I could read it properly

and understand easily. This is requiring to have a concentration of what you are reading

or sometimes our people taking down notes so that they could helpful to understand.

The more you read the more words you gain. Fourth is writing, we write using a pencil

or pen. You’ve analyze what you’ve read and you’ll write it. If we know how to write

clearly it is easy to understand the system of language like grammar or vocabulary. This

is the practice that we use every day especially in school example is writing notes and

this is also the one way of communication by giving letter to your friend. We express
yourself through writing because you share or explain what’s on your mind. This is

ultimately increase awareness and improve memory and imagination through writing

because you will write your experiences etc. Lastly is viewing because this is helpful to

analyze visual texts that we see in media texts. This is also helpful to teach us on how

we view on media this is also can be used as one educational tool because you attract

people’s attention especially when there are pictures or videos shown. This is the

process that support oral and literacy and we can enhance our skills in speaking and

reading.

I came up to this order because for me oral skills like listening and speaking is

effective of expressing meaning to other people. Listening teach you how to speak

because you learn how to speak by hearing words. this is the sequence to gradually

improve our communication skills. Oral skills like listening and speaking and literacy

skills like reading and writing and last is viewing. This is all helpful to solve our future

problems and achieve our objectives and effective communication.
