RESEARCH PAPER OUTLINE ASSIGNMENT

Choose to use either your previously submitted process or contrast essay for this assignment.
Using this essay, you will add one piece of research to each body paragraph. To do this, you
will need to find at least two, academic sources from Conestoga’s library. ONLY ACADEMIC
SOURCES FROM CONESTOGA’S ONLINE LIBRARY DATABASES can be used for this
assignment.

The Outline Assignment is worth 10% of your course grade.

Make sure that you include the following:

 A title page in APA 7th edition format following the example on eConestoga.
 A complete thesis statement including your topic + point of view + 3 grammatically-
parallel main ideas (in one sentence).
 An outline written in COMPLETE SENTENCES (see research outline example in
week 10), including one piece of research for each body paragraph. (the same
source can be used twice).
 An APA (7th edition) references page
 An appendix page which includes the direct quote (from your academic source) and
the corresponding paraphrase (your own words) taken directly from your outline.
 (Note: you may choose to have more than one example/additional detail for each
supporting detail.)

Your outline must . . .

 Include 3 pieces of research from Conestoga’s online library
(https://library.conestogac.on.ca/)
 Each body paragraph should have one piece of research to further explain/develop
one of the supporting details.
o At least one paraphrase is required.
o At least one direct quotation is required.
o The third is your choice (quote or paraphrase)
 Use APA 7th Edition format, which includes:
o Title page
o In-text citation for each piece of research. For example: (Smith, 2019, p. 22).
o References page
 Be written in grammatically correct, well-explained, complete sentences.
 Have an appropriate title (capitalized correctly).
 Be formatted correctly – use the template (week 10).
 Be typed, using Arial font 12, double-spaced.

Research (QUOTES/PARAPHRASES) is for examples/additional information only. The rest

of your outline should be your OWN WORDS and not from secondary sources.

 Each body paragraph is supported by research (with an appropriate APA in-text
citation) with either a quote or paraphrase. *At least one paraphrase must be
