Throughout our lives we have to choose. Starting from domestic issues to
something more serious. One of the most significant decisions a person makes
is to choose a future profession.
Choosing a career is one of the most important life decisions that every person
faces on the threshold of adulthood. It means that on leaving school every
teenager should be aware what he wants to become. So, if you want to influence
your future, it is high time to take actions. At first, you have to learn about
yourself. You should take into account your values, interests, skills, as well as
certain personality traits which can identify the most suitable professions for
you. Then it is highly recommended to study the field you want to work in and
to find out what jobs are in demand.
According to Confucius, ‘Find a job you love and you will never work a day in
your life’. I absolutely agree with this statement. Your future job should give
you an opportunity to fulfill yourself and bring joy so that at work there is no
feeling of heaviness and aversion. When you completely devote yourself to
your job, you get better and quicker results. So if you are passionate about your
work, you have more chances to succeed.
Well, choosing a proper career is a conscious decision of a grown-up person,
and it is essential to explore job options that match your interests, skills and
knowledge. It is absolutely wrong to chase your parents' dreams. If you are not
interested to work in a field they want you do, always stand your ground. It is
high time for you to decide for yourself what to do for living and to find your
real calling.
We may often wonder: ‘ Are we going to follow in our parents’ footsteps?’ I
will say so : ‘It depends’. For example, I don’t want to follow in my parents’
footsteps. Moreover my parents don’t want it . They want my life to be better
than theirs, telling me to choose what personally I want to do in the future. Yes,
it is very important to listen to the opinion of our parents and relatives as our
nearest and dearest play an important role in our destiny but we must decide for
ourselves and the last work should be ours.
Today there are a lot of job options to choose from out there. Anyway, the
choice of professions depends on people's individual abilities and talents. Some
people have dreams of becoming a doctor and saving people's lives, others like
cooking and become master chefs. There are people, for instance, who like
taking care of animals, and therefore become veterinary surgeons. Some people
have a talent for painting and are not good at the other things. It is not difficult
to guess that they become painters, designers or architects. All in all, today the
most popular jobs are office clerks, policemen, teachers, waitresses, hairstylists,
drivers and some others.

Aims are necessary for those who need a lot in life: either to get a lot from life
and to do a lot for life. Stop thinking that you won’t succeed. Every goal is
achievable. We simply need to do our best and not to change the direction at

As for me, to be honest, I still can’t decide who I want to become. I’ve been
thinking about it many times. This is a very important moment and I don’t want
to be wrong. So, I can say that I’m still in the thinking stage, however, I have
already had a couple of options. Most of all I like travelling and some time ago
I started thinking of a travel manager’s career. In profession of a travel agent,
on the one hand, it is a good thing that you study a foreign language; learn
about traditions, customs and history of countries. It is fantastic! But on the
other hand a travel agent helps their clients make a decision about the most
attractive tour for them.To my mind, it’s very exiting. I have been also thinking
about logistics and economic fields. So , by now I haven’t made a final decision
regarding my future job yet.
I’m not very consistent person. I have a lot of hobbies and may be in a while I’ll
have new ideas and interests. But I realize that I’m rather good at languages and
I’d like to continue specializing in learning them, learning more about other
countries, their culturies and people. Moreover the knowledge of foreign
languages is becoming increasingly important in today's globalized world.
Learning foreign languages is essential if you are going to build a successful
career, if you are planning to travel around the world or if you want to get
further education abroad. So, nowadays more and more people are learning
foreign languages, especially English.
As a matter of fact, English is one of the most popular and wide-spread
languages in the world. Whenever you go, everybody can speak it. Besides,
more and more foreign companies are opening their offices in Belarus. So, the
demand for interpreting services is on the rise. Moreover, having a perfect
command of a foreign language gives you much more opportunities to find a
highly-paid job. believe that foreign languages are our passport to another world
full of breathtaking places, interesting people, new culture and way of life.
Learning foreign languages is essential if you want to explore the world and
develop your personality. Sound language skills are guarantee of success in
your future career.
So, We must all be very careful while choosing our career. We must not enter a
field just because our friend or sibling has taken it up or our parents want us to
go for it. We should listen to our heart, understand what really interests us, see
if we are good at it and then look forward to other aspects attached to it. I hope I
will be able to make a right choice but for now future career is still an open
issue.
