Personal Statement

Nowadays, the hospitality and tourism industry has become one of the large and essential

industries around the world. Working in this sector will offer a huge range of interesting roles, such as

meeting new people and the opportunity to travel. Identifying my fascinations in life is the key to my

future, among other skills that I need to build. As well as, I have a passion for all travel-related things and

I am a people person then this type of professional will be ideal for me. I have a serious aspiration for a

career in the hospitality and tourism industry. Furthermore, I always have the dream in my heart that

Myanmar, my beloved country, attracts the world with the field of hospitality and tourism. So, I have

decided to be a professional in this industry.

During the whole of my student vocation, I have had my interest in languages and wondered how

people from different races communicate with each other. I always look up to people who can speak

different languages and also dream to be a polyglot. This brings me a fabulous goal which makes me want

to communicate with people from other continents. In high school, I always solved the problems that

people who are arguing. I always lead the group’s presentation and projects and I enjoyed leading other

people. I can deal with people from a variety of backgrounds, ages, nationalities, and attitudes and I can

communicate in a way that is both clear and understandable. And also, I was the monitor of my class in

high school every year.

Before I go abroad, I decided to study at GAC, which will be the best way to study abroad so I can

manage myself and more prepared. At first, I have a lot of difficulties and challenges in the way that there

are a lot of differences in teaching style comparing with high school. I have learned a lot of things in

GAC, the most effective thing is knowing about my personality type, what type of learning style is

suitable for me. According to my personality type, I knew that I am an extrovert and I liked to talk with

people. I become more sociable and understand how to communicate more conveniently with people. And

I can manage more time in my daily life including education, health, and relaxed time. As a result, I knew

Hospitality, and tourism management is the best suitable subject for my career. All of the lessons from

GAC performance is useful for me to study the hospitality and tourism industry.

In the period between going to study abroad and graduation from GAC, I have time to prepare. So,

I will attend the diploma course in hospitality and tourism management provided by NMDC (national

management degree college) to be more familiar with those subjects in studying abroad. I strongly believe

that I would be able to get into the university I want to join and pursue my choice of major from the GAC

course.

As a result of researching the universities which are the best for hospitality and tourism

management, I decided to choose the HTMI. I choose this university because this is one of the highest

ranking universities in hospitality and tourism management. This university is sure guaranty for job

replacement after graduation. Further that this is located in Switzerland where I always dreaming to go

there. And, I believe that I will make to get my dream, passion, and goal while I am studying this

university. Moreover, I have to try hard to get a high GPA, to study for HTMI.
